In total 408 photovoltaic modules have been installed on the roof of the office building and the roof of the warehouse/garage. The modules have been manufactured by Atersa, a subsidiary of Elecnor, which is a leader in the manufacture of solar modules and panels.

In addition to the modules, the installation includes a transformer station to supply the generated energy to the network.

Both roofs total 80 kW of power and the estimated energy generation is 121.6 MWh per year, which equals the electricity consumed by 40 homes in this period.

The plant will transform solar radiation via the panels on the roofs and will generate energy without any CO2 emissions, preventing 1,216 tonnes being emitted during its useful life.

Elecnor currently has 5.5 MW of rooftop installations in Spain and 26.2 MW in the international market, making it a photovoltaic energy industry benchmark as a developer and manufacturer of all the components needed to configure a photovoltaic system.

Elecnor Seguridad, Willis Iberia, GTD Sistemas de Seguridad and SGS sign an agreement to protect critical infrastructures

Madrid, 26 January 2012.- The agreement forming the consortium consisting of Elecnor Seguridad, Willis Iberia, GTD Sistemas de Seguridad and SGS was signed this morning to protect critical infrastructures.

The Spanish multinational secures five years of syndicated financing with a group of 14 financial institutions

The company has successfully acquired funding for its growth plans, despite the fragile situation on financial markets

Madrid, 19 January 2012.- Elecnor has obtained 500 million euros of financing with a group of 14 national and international financial institutions.

The deal was acquired at the highest level of the originally planned bracket (between 400 and 500 million euros). It is remarkable that, despite the difficult situation being experienced on financial markets, the deal was oversubscribed and comfortably exceeded 500 million euros. Support from the financial community is the result of good business prospects and the track record of the company, which has historically maintained excellent debt ratios.

The financing, with a maturity of five years, is split into two tranches: a loan tranche of three hundred million euros; and a revolving line of credit tranche of two hundred million euros. The deal was headed by three institutions: Banco Santander, acting as the agent bank; and Barclays and "la Caixa", in their capacity as bookrunners and MLAs, with Santander and Barclays coordinating the operation. Other MLAs were Banco Sabadell and Crédit Agricole, in collaboration with BBVA, Banco Popular, Banesto, Bankinter, Kutxa Bank, Banca Cívica, Bankia, Caja España-Duero and Banco Pastor.

The acquired financing is part of the investment plan put in place by the Spanish multinational in its current Strategic Plan and in its anticipated growth strategy for the following years.

Elecnor Deimos leads the consortium selected by the CDTI

PERIGEO, a project for space technology research on UAVs, is one of the seven projects funded by INNPRONTA

▪ As part of the project, a cluster of laboratories will be started up, constituting an integrated framework for research and design
▪ The consortium consists of 8 private companies and 7 public research organizations

Madrid, 21 December 2011.- The Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) has chosen the project PERIGEO, for space technology research on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) platforms, to receive funding under its INNPRONTA program, which is aimed at promoting stable cooperation in R&D between public and private entities in areas of strategic importance for the development of the national economy. In this first call, INNPRONTA received a total of 42 proposals and PERIGEO was one of the seven selected.

PERIGEO, with an investment of over 18 million euros, will receive funding from the CDTI for 85% of the budget (66% through loans and 34% through grants). The project will serve as a driving force for the development of Spanish space technology, within the framework of the Space Technology Plan established by the Spanish Government, and also represents an important step forward in the consolidation of the Spanish aerospace company, Elecnor Deimos, in collaboration with industrial and academic partners from the European space industry.

ELECNOR DEIMOS is leading the aerospace consortium formed by AERNNOVA, IXION, EMBENTION, AERLYPER and SCR, AD-TELECOM, among other companies, and the public research organizations INTA, CATEC-UNIVERSIDAD DE SEVILLA, UNIVERSIDAD CARLOS III DE MADRID, IG, UPM, IMDEA, CTA, with the collaboration of ITER and PARAFLY and the coordination of IPLUSF.

Furthermore, as part of this research and experimental project, a cluster of laboratories will be started up with an integrated innovation and design process in the field of aerospace technology. An excellent opportunity for all members of the sector dedicated to developing technology through testing on UAVs. The cluster will consist of a “Dual Synthetic Environment” housed in the facilities of the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, which will be connected to the environments “Internal UAV Testing” of CATEC, which includes facilities for the “External Flight” of INTA.

Over the four years of work planned, PERIGEO will focus its research on solving technological challenges related to four space mission scenarios; Earth observation; interplanetary flights in proximity to celestial bodies (asteroids, comets...); atmospheric flight; and safe and accurate descent and landing for planetary exploration.

Different goals and challenges are considered for each of these scenarios and for this reason four lines of research have been established: Optimized Design of Aerospace Systems, Advanced Control, Autonomous Navigation and a Research and Design Integration Process.

PERIGEO provides a framework for collaboration between Private Companies and Public Research Organizations, which will contribute significantly to advancing the competitive position of the companies in the consortium, based on the innovation of the technical-scientific method for the transfer of basic research to the aerospace industry.

Madrid, 21 December 2011.- Elecnor, through its subsidiary Enerfin, has secured an additional 94 MW of wind power in Brazil, where it already operates 180 MW and is currently developing another 148 MW. The multinational will now operate a total of 422 MW, staking its place among Brazil’s industry leaders.

The project awarded to Elecnor, as part of the Alternative Sources tender organized by the Brazilian Government, involves the construction and operation of four wind parks located in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, whose construction is planned for 2013 and 2014.

The total investment for this new contract amounts to 402 million reais, roughly around 167 million euros.

Elecnor maintains a strong presence in the renewable energy field, particularly in wind energy (over 1,000 MW in operation and development), thermal solar energy (three plants currently under construction in Spain) and photovoltaic solar energy where, through its subsidiary Atersa, it is a leader in photovoltaic module manufacturing.
In consortium, Elecnor has been awarded two transmission concessions in Brazil

Madrid, 20 December 2011.- Elecnor, in a consortium with Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel), has been awarded two contracts in the most recent round of power transmission tenders made by the Brazilian Electrical Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Elecnor owns 51% of the consortium while Copel owns the remaining 49%.

The first contract, awarded for a project in the state of Paraná, comprises a 230 kilovolt transmission line covering 136 km and two substations with capacities of 400 and 300 MVA respectively. The contract represents an investment of around 162 million Brazilian reals (about 67.5 million euros), to be financed both by capital contributions and by long-term non-recourse debt. Construction costs will total 135 million Brazilian reals, equivalent to 56 million euros. The project will be completed in 24 months and is directly expected to generate 1,205 new jobs.

The other contract, the second largest of all the projects put out to tender, is a 365 kilometre 500 kilovolt transmission line in the state of Maranhao. This contract represents an investment of approximately 290 million Brazilian reals (121 million euros), with construction costs totalling approximately 265 million reals (110 million euros). Completion will again take 24 months and an estimated 1,805 new jobs will be directly created.

Elecnor will be 100% responsible for the construction of both projects.

The two operator contracts will last for 30 years and form part of the Growth Acceleration Programme implemented by the Brazilian government with the aim of improving the quality and reliability of the country’s electricity supply.

This new investment further strengthens Elecnor’s growth in the energy operator sector, in line with the company’s strategic objectives. It also serves to consolidate its presence in the electricity transmission sector in Brazil, in which it already forms part of 10 operator companies with a total of 9,140 MVA capacity and 3,734 kilometres of line built, including these two new projects.

Elecnor increases its profits by 12.6%, reaching 86.1 million at the end of the third quarter

Sales top 1.278 billion, a 7% increase

Madrid, 14 November 2011.- In the first 9 months of the financial year, Elecnor recorded consolidated net profits of 86.1 million euros. This figure represents a 12.6% increase when compared to the 76.5 million recorded during the same period in 2010.

The positive development of overseas operations in its wind energy subsidiary, with particularly significant implementation outside of Spain in Brazil and Canada, contributed to this increase. Another contributing factor was the entry into service of a new 10 MW photovoltaic solar farm under a concession agreement, located in Valdecaballeros (Badajoz), as well as increased profitability from electric transmission line concessionaires owned by the company in Brazil.

Alongside these ordinary factors, the increased profit was also due to the extraordinary impact of the reorganisation of some of the aforementioned Brazilian concessionaires, carried out last June. The combined effect of two sales operations and a third purchase operation left Elecnor with consolidated net gains of 5.1 million euros. Without these, consolidated net profit as at 30 September would have reached 81 million euros, a 5.9% increase on the first 9 months in 2010.

Turnover

Moreover, consolidated sales at the end of the third quarter rose to 1.278 billion euros, a figure that is 7% higher than the 1.194 billion recorded at the end of the same period in 2010.

Various factors contributed to this growth, including these noteworthy aspects:

Moderate improvement on Elecnor's traditional markets (mainly infrastructures)

Development of the three thermo-solar projects under construction in which Elecnor holds shares in Spain: one in Badajoz and two in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real)

Consolidation of sales figures from the companies Audeca and Teytel, acquired by Elecnor last financial year and whose contribution in the first 9 months of 2010 was only partial

The complete consolidation of 2 Brazilian concessionaires, which are now 100% owned by Elecnor under the framework of the aforementioned company reorganisation: LT Triángulo and Vila do Conde

Contract portfolio

At the close of the third quarter, the portfolio of contracts pending execution rose to 1.526 billion euros, an increase of 110 million when compared to the portfolio in place at the beginning of the financial year (+8%). The primary source of this growth stems from the external market, where the portfolio as at 30 September grew by 17.7% and reached 780 million euros, a figure exceeding 34 million when compared to the portfolio on the internal market.

Madrid, 7 November 2011.- Over the last few days, the Deimos-1 observation satellite, launched in space by Elecnor in July 2009, has followed the development of the volcanic sea stain caused by the submarine eruption at El Hierro Island.

As can be seen in the general image taken by Deimos-1 on Saturday 5 November, the large stain is decreasing in size as it moves into the open sea and currently covers a surface area of 83.5 million m2 (8,340.5 hectares). The volcanic bubble, highlighted by a box in the detail of the image, is 640 metres in diameter and spans an area of 34 hectares (0.34 million m2).

The Deimos-1 satellite is the first European Earth observation satellite to be privately funded in its entirety. It was developed by Elecnor Deimos, the Elecnor technology division, to obtain high-resolution images of the Earth for subsequent processing and use in various applications, such as agriculture, the environment, defence, climate change, deforestation, the fight against natural disasters and water resources control.

The satellite's main instrument is a set of 6 cameras facing the Earth, which can acquire images on 3 different spectrum bands with a detail of 22 metres. The Deimos-1 satellite provides added value to this space segment nearing the 20-metre mark, such as the wide sweep of its images close on 640 km, among other factors.

Madrid, 27 October 2011.- Elecnor will construct the gas pipeline that will allow natural gas to be transported from the state of Tlaxcala to Morelos, in Mexico’s central region. The project fits within the contract granted following the corresponding tender by Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). Within the framework of this contract, Elecnor will provide the CFE gas transmission services via the new gas pipeline for a period of 25 years.

The project denotes an investment in the gas pipeline of over 270 million dollars (around 200 million euros). The pipeline will run for approximately 160 kilometres. It will connect the current gas pipeline system owned by the Mexican company Pemex Gas Petroquímica Básica in Tlaxcala with numerous electricity generation power plants soon to be developed in the Mexican state of Morelos. The start-up shall take place in two stages, the first in October 2012 and the second in June 2013.

Elecnor breached the Mexican market in the early ‘90s, and since then it has helped develop electric, telecommunications, information system, gas and oil infrastructures, among others. As a recent milestone, in 2010, Elecnor was granted the design, construction, equipment supply and start-up of the “Agua Prieta II” combined cycle power plant in the Mexican state of Sonora, with an installed generational capacity of 400 MW.

Leclerc supermarket in Murcia

Murcia, 13 October 2011.– Elecnor, via its subsidiary Zinertia Renovables, plans to install photovoltaic panels on the roof of the E. Leclerc supermarket building and parking lot marquees, in Sangonera La Seca, Murcia.

Elecnor is the developer and manufacturer of these installations in which a total of 3,066 modules will be installed, 1,365 on the building’s roof and the remaining 1,701 atop the parking lot marquees.

Altogether, the installations will produce some 610kWn of power, 280kWn attributable to the roof and 300kWn to the marquees. This technology will use the installed modules to transform solar radiation and generate energy without producing CO2 emissions.

In addition to the modules, the installation includes an electrical system which will evacuate the energy produced, a monitoring system and centre that transforms, measures and delivers the energy generated by the solar roof.

Elecnor currently has 5.3MW of roof-top installations in Spain and 29MW in the international market, making it an energy industry benchmark as a developer and manufacturer of all components needed to configure a photovoltaic system.

Elecnor will build the Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre in Huelva

Madrid, 6 October 2011.- Elecnor, via its construction subsidiary Ehisa, has been awarded, by the Huelva Science and Technology Park (PCTH), the rights to build the new Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre building, also known as Edificio 7000. The award comes to a total of 10.7 million euros.

The new infrastructure, to be raised within 17 months on land belonging to the Park in Aljaraque, will be situated on a 10,000m2 plot of land and feature a buildable surface of 15,500m2, divided into a 7,000m2 floor, basement, ground floor, first floor and roofed lookout. The Centre, which will house the Park’s official headquarters, will play home to technological companies and favour their cooperation, consolidation and future progress.

The building’s construction is based on the values of sustainability and energy efficiency. This is made possible thanks to integrating the latest renewable energy sources, a highly efficient facility design, the use of recyclable materials and reduced water consumption and CO2 emissions.

The Huelva Science and Technology Park is striving to become a national and international benchmark in the realm of sustainability. It is geared towards industries which are strategic for Andalusia and particularly prominent in Huelva, such as the advanced chemical industry, agro-food and tourism, among others. Thus, it will help define successful medium-term business activities such as renewable energy and exploiting the region’s natural resources, for example, waste treatment and reuse or new construction systems and materials.

This is the second project the Huelva Science and Technology Park has awarded Elecnor. Currently, construction on the so-called Edificio 2000, granted this past January for a sum of 3 million euros, has been completed.

In consortium, Elecnor will build a power line in Paraguay valued at 123 million euros

It will link the Itaipu Dam substation and the Villa Hayes substation, spanning a length of almost 350 kilometres.

Madrid, 23 September 2011. Elecnor has been awarded a contract to build an electrical transmission line between the substation located on the right embankment of the Itaipu Dam and the Villa de Hayes substation, near the capital of Paraguay, Asunción.

The tender, put forward by the Itaipu Binacional Specific Committee for Analysis, Judgement and Negotiation in Paraguay, amounts to 166 million dollars (approximately 123 million euros). Elecnor will build a line of 347.75 kilometres and 500 kilovolts, with an implementation period of 14 months. This line will be installed as part of a series of infrastructure projects, which are aimed at increasing the reliability and safety of the electrical system in Paraguay.

This contract makes up part of Elecnor's portfolio on the international market of electrical infrastructures. Specifically, Elecnor has developed projects of this type in almost the whole of the Latin American region. Highlights include Brazil and Chile, countries in which Elecnor builds transmission lines and boasts concessionary agreements.

The satellite DEIMOS 1 has orbited the Earth 10,700 times and has recorded 7,800 images during the first two years since its launch

• DEIMOS 1 was launched in July 2009 and was the first European Earth-observation satellite to be funded exclusively by private capital

• The satellite's operations are controlled from the Boecillo Technology Park in Valladolid

• DEIMOS 1's unique achievements include a full inventory of the world's tropical rainforests, carried out for the European Space Agency

Valladolid, 20 September 2011.- Elecnor, through its technological division Elecnor Deimos, has presented a report in Valladolid today on the first two years in orbit of the DEMIOS 1 Earth-observation satellite. The presentation was attended by the current councilor for Economy and Employment in the Government of Castilla-León, Tomás Villanueva.

Launched on 29 July 2009 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, over the last two years DEIMOS 1 has orbited the Earth over 10,700 times and has travelled around 450 million kilometres, which is three times greater than the distance between the Earth and the Sun. Since its launch, the satellite has recorded 7,800 images of the Earth, creating a data archive that would cover an area of over 690 million km2 (nearly five times larger than the Earth's total land mass).

After the launch, and following an initial test period to check that all its systems were functioning correctly, the first image was obtained at the beginning of August 2009. The calibration stage then began, in which all the satellite's cameras were calibrated in order to ensure the images it recorded were of the very highest quality. This process was then followed by a manoeuvring period to place the satellite in an optimum position. The final result of all these complex technical processes was the declaration, in early 2010, that the system was fully operational.

In the words of Javier Martínez de Irujo, CEO of Elecnor Deimos, "although the launch into orbit and optimisation of such a complex satellite system is certainly remarkable, what has been truly important during these two years of operation is the great number of applications for the data gathered by DEIMOS 1, applications which range from agriculture to the environment by way of defence, climate change, deforestation, the fight against natural disasters and the control of water resources".

Unique Achievements

In 2010, DEIMOS 1 carried out a full inventory of the Earth's tropical rainforests on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) and throughout 2011 it has continued to work for the European Union and the ESA as part of the GMES programme, providing complete coverage of Africa.

This year, DEIMOS 1 was also chosen by the US Department of Agriculture to provide complete monthly coverage of the United States, thereby enabling monitoring via satellite of the country's agriculture industry.

The subsidiary company Elecnor Deimos Imaging is directly responsible for the development, operation and commercial exploitation of the satellite. Its CEO, Pedro Duque, stated that "we have been gaining more clients and have achieved sales in countries in five different continents, to organisations that have expressed on numerous occasions their great satisfaction with, and recognition of, the exceptional quality of the images we have provided".

Among DEIMOS 1's most outstanding achievements during its first two years of operation is the distinction of being the first satellite to provide United Nations relief agencies with images of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on 4 March, thus assisting the agencies in their rescue efforts. DEIMOS 1 has played an important role in helping to deal with a number of natural disasters, including the flooding in Jerez and Asturias in 2010, the forest fire in Benicolet, Valencia, in April 2011, the recent fires in Arizona and the floods caused by the Mississippi River in the United States.

The Role of Boecillo

DEIMOS 1 has turned Elecnor Deimos into the foremost operator of observation satellites in Spain and one of the global leaders in the field. The efforts of the team at Ground Control, Process and Applications at the Boecillo Technology Park in Valladolid have been key to achieving this success: in the words of Pedro Duque, the team "has shown that they are highly prepared and capable of adapting to any circumstances".

The satellite is controlled from Boecillo, which is also where potential problems with the satellite or its monitoring stations are solved and where downloaded images are processed and then converted into real applications of interest to the company's clients.

As stated by the CEO of Elecnor Deimos, "the experience accumulated at Boecillo by the operations and image-processing teams and the developers of added-value products is unmatched anywhere in the world, and allows us to look to the future with optimism. The infrastructure created here at the technology park will also be key to the success of our second satellite, DEIMOS 2, a project that is now being implemented and which will pose a new technological challenge".

Elecnor Deimos, the technology sector of Elecnor is installing a laboratory in the Adif Center for Railway Technologies in order to establish a stable framework of collaboratAdif and Elecnor Deimos sign an agreement to collaborate in the development of R&D&i activities

The primary fields of research will revolve around the transfer of spatial technology to the railway sector (remote sensing, satellite navigation), energy efficiency in stations, information systems and telemanagement of stations, real time management of railway issues and accessibility improvement.

Madrid, August 25, 2011- The president of Adif, Antonio González Marín and the president of Elecnor Deimos, Francisco Javier Martínez de Irujo Garnica have signed a Framework Agreement for Collaboration by which both companies promise to collaborate in carrying out activities related to scientific research, technological development and railway innovation at the Adif Center for Railway Technology (CTF) in Malaga.

The agreement, which will be in effect until December 31, 2012, and may be prolonged tacitly for two years by both parties, will develop common interest research projects to be carried out at the Railway Technology Center of Malaga related to the efficient lighting of platforms and lobbies, comparatives of electric consumption, alternative energy usage, comprehensive control of all the station’s systems, collective action in evacuation and emergency situations and the incorporation of systems to aid the handicapped.

The joint fields of research are:

• Energy efficiency in stations
• Information systems
• Telemanagement systems for stations
• Improvements to station accessibility
• Station management, control and maintenance systems
• Obstacle prevention on tracks through satellite and hybrid technologies
• Real time management systems for railway issues

Furthermore, the framework agreement entered into by Adif and Elecnor Deimos will allow the development of common interest activities in the railway field like:

Carrying out studies and implementing projects and research, development and innovation programs in scientific areas of common interest; reciprocal advising, mutual support and information exchange regarding promotion, development and monitoring of scientific activities; cooperation in personal training programs; organization and execution of common activities related to the social promotion of technological research and development; exchange and collaboration of personnel and the shared use of installations.

Likewise, both entities promise to collaborate in the creation of public/private consortiums in order to present R&D&i projects to national and community contests for aid or to present joint offers to international tenders, as well as in other activities that are considered to be of mutual interest.

To carry out these activities, Adif has reserved space for Elecnor Deimos within the Railway Technologies Center of Malaga.

Technological Transfer and Commercial Operation

Within the abovementioned Framework Agreement, Adif and Elecnor Deimos have also signed an agreement of technological transfer and commercial operation with regard to the Station Information and Telemanagement System (SITGES) and the External System Module (MSE).

In the above agreement, both companies certify that the intellectual property rights of both systems correspond exclusively to Adif, who expressly transfers the operating rights to Elecnor Deimos for a period of three years. Likewise, the agreement sets the objective of establishing cooperation formulas between both entities to commercialize the system.

The SITGES system and the External System Module (MSE) that form part of a railway information management system allow for the reception of railway trafficking information and its processing according to railway logic and make it available to passenger information systems. The development of both systems was bid on by Adif and was awarded to Elecnor Deimos since it had the necessary knowledge and experience for the corresponding development and implementation. The very nature of these systems and their high technological content justify the rights to operation being given directly to Elecnor Deimos.

In accordance with this agreement, Elecnor Deimos is obligated to transfer all the industrial or intellectual property rights that correspond to future additions or the perfecting of these systems to Adif after and during the length of this agreement (except those developments carried out by Elecnor Deimos within a framework of its own R&D&i). Likewise, Elecnor Deimos will receive the license for use, evolution and marketing of the system for a period of three years.

This operating license is conditioned upon marketing the systems outside of Adif’s scope of competent action. Elecnor Deimos also promises to communicate any marketing operation related to this technology to Adif.

On the other hand, Adif promises to give Elecnor Deimos all the support that the parties deem necessary (according to each case) in order to carry out the marketing activities (visits to control centers, to high speed or conventional railway lines etc…). Adif’s participation in international collaboration projects will be determined according to each project or joint action.

Malaga Center for Railway Technology

Adif, who from the beginning has been committed to technological innovation and development, has more than 57 R&D&i projects in the developmental stage, in collaboration with different organizations, and has a total investment of 107 million Euros, apart from the collaboration that it has with more than 125 Spanish businesses, 22 technology centers and 24 universities.

The CTF is conceived as an open innovation space and works with businesses at the forefront of technology within its installations, like Abengoa, Acciona and Indra in addition to Elecnor Deimos, to propel technological railway innovation and development, thanks to collaborative R&D&i projects with Adif.

By creating CTF, Adif has the objective of moving the Spanish railway system to the forefront of European and world technology. This technological center and the complementary railway ring that will be built for testing will be at the vanguard of the world when it comes to research, development and innovation in the scope of high speed.

The first phase of CTF will have two specialized laboratories by Adif: The GSM-R laboratory for RBC-Train communication technology and the development of data engineering for ERTMS. The TIC laboratory will be dedicated to intelligent transportation systems and the evolution of the Da Vinci system, which is an advanced system of railway traffic management.

This way Adif fulfills one of its strategic objectives: increasing cooperation with public and private entities with regard to research, development and innovation technology activities within their primary areas of business, as well as R&D&i projects promoted by Spanish and European Union public administrations through the R&D&i Framework Program.

Elecnor Deimos markets engineering services and development of systems in the telecommunication, energy, gas, transportation, and water generation and environmental sectors. Its main activity is the development of tailored systems following the functional requirements defined by clients, applying a wide range of different technology.

Elecnor secures an additional 28 MW of wind power

Madrid, 22 August 2011.- Elecnor, through its subsidiary Enerfin, has secured an additional 28 MW of wind power in Brazil, where it already develops and operates 300 MW. The multinational will now operate a total of 328 MW, staking its place among Brazil’s industry leaders.

The project allocated to Elecnor involves the construction and operation of a new wind farm, which will go by the name Dos Indios 2, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The new wind farm will be incorporated within Elecnor’s wind complex in Osorio, which became operational in 2006 and is considered the largest of its kind in Latin America. The total investment for this new wind farm –equipped with 14 wind turbines–, will amount to 104 million reais, roughly around 45.3 million euros.

The Dos Indios 2 wind park will capitalize on the transformation infrastructures and on the network connection already in place at the Osorio complex to offer extremely competitive prices, a decisive factor given the current state of Brazil’s wind market. The estimated date for connection to the network is July 2014.

Elecnor has consolidated its position within the realm of renewable energy, with a prominent foothold in wind (over 1,000 developed MW), thermal solar (three plants currently under construction in Spain) and photovoltaic solar energy. The development of this new Brazilian wind farm is part of the investment efforts put in place by Elecnor within its 2011-2013 Strategic Plan: 2,800 million euros, of which 700 are directly attributable to the company through capital contributions in projects which will be financed under a "project finance" model.

Madrid, 1 August 2011.- Elecnor has been granted financing for the amount of 445 million Brazilian reais (roughly 198 million euros at the current listed value) from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES, Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social) to develop its subsidiary Enerfín's new wind projects in Brazil. The financing has a 16-year term.

This agreement with BNDES covers the latest three awards Elecnor has been granted in Brazil, 150 MW altogether. Specifically, said awards constitute the Las Leiloes wind farms (96 MW in 2009 and another 46 MW in 2010) and the Palmares wind farm, with an additional 8 MW.

Of these 150 MW located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, 30 MW are already in operation, while the rest are scheduled to become operational sometime this year or next. By combining the new MW with those previously developed, Elecnor's total power in Brazil climbs to 300 MW, thus staking its place among the country's industry leaders.

Elecnor has consolidated its position within the realm of renewable energy, with a prominent foothold in wind (over 1,000 developed MW), thermal solar (three plants currently under construction in Spain) and photovoltaic solar energy. The financing provided to the Brazilian wind farms is part of the investment efforts put in place by Elecnor within its 2011-2013 Strategic Plan: 2,800 million euros, of which 700 are directly attributable to the company through capital contributions in projects which will be financed under a "project finance" model.

Elecnor increases its profit by 6.1% in the first semester

Income grows 6.3% and reaches 814.3 million euros

The pipeline of contracts pending execution amounts to 1.514 billion, 6.9% more than at the end of 2010

Madrid, 28 July 2011.- Elecnor earned a consolidated net profit of 51.2 million euros in the first semester. This figure represents an increase of 6.1% with respect to the 48.3 million euros with which it ended the same period in 2010. The main reasons for this evolution are the following:

Greater contribution from subsidiaries that operate abroad, including electricity transmission licensee companies in Brazil, whose profitability improved after the corporate restructuring this last financial year.

An increase in the margins on projects executed by the parent company, mainly in foreign markets.

The improvement experienced by business activity in the domestic market.

Continuation of the policy of containing and controlling overhead being applied in recent financial years.

Regarding consolidated income, it amounted to 814.3 million euros at 30 June, a figure that represents a 6.3% increase over the 765.8 million in the first semester of 2010. In this case, the factors with the most influence were the following:

Development of the three thermosolar projects under construction in which Elecnor participates in our country: one in Badajoz and two in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real).

Consolidation of the sales figures from the companies Audeca and Teytel, which were acquired by Elecnor last year and whose contribution in the first semester of 2010 was only partial.

Greater contribution to turnover from subsidiaries operating abroad, as well as the increased sales achieved by companies operating in the wind energy market.

Pipeline of contracts

At the close of the semester, the pipeline of contracts pending execution reached 1.514 billion euros, a figure that is 98 million more than the pipeline of contracts at which the financial year started (+6.9%). The main source of this growth came from foreign markets, where Elecnor saw its pipeline increase by 21.3% with respect to last 31 December. Thus, at 30 June the value of projects pending execution outside our borders (803.5 million euros) surpassed the domestic figure, which was 710.6 million euros.

Forecasts for 2011

In view of the evolution of the pipeline of contracts pending execution during the first half of the year, Elecnor reaffirms its initial estimate, according to which both net profit and turnover for 2011 could exceed the levels reached last year, excluding all the effects to the 2010 figures due to reorganisation of its shareholdings in the Brazilian licensee business.

Elecnor concludes the second phase of the restructuring of its Brazilian subsidiaries

Madrid, 20 July 2011. Following approval by all the corresponding regulatory bodies and closure of the financial aspects, Elecnor has now concluded the second phase of the restructuring of its electrical transmission concession subsidiaries in Brazil with the acquisition of the stock which it did not hold in one company and the sale of its shares in a further two concession companies. The combined effect of the three operations leaves Elecnor with consolidated net gains of 5.1 million euros.

In specific terms, Elecnor has purchased the 66.6% which it did not control of the electrical transmission concession company Vila do Conde Transmissora de Energia. The vendors are Isolux Energia and Lintran do Brasil, with the sum total amounting to 174.3 million Brazilian reals, equivalent to 78.5 million euros.

It in parallel sold its 33.3% stake in the company Porto Primavera Transmissora de Energia to Lintran do Brasil for 101.9 million reals, equivalent to some 45.9 million euros. Isolux meanwhile purchased 33.3% of the company Cachoeira Paulista Transmissora de Energia S.A. (CPTE) for 89.4 million reals, equivalent to 40.2 million euros. The two divestments thus amount to a total of 86.1 million euros.

Committed to Brazil

The first phase of this restructuring process, comprising the sale of its stock in 7 companies and acquisition of 100% control over another, was completed in December 2010. The 100% stake now acquired in Vila do Conde Transmissora de Energia clearly reflects Elecnor's desire to maintain its presence in the Brazilian electrical transmission concession business.

Following this second phase, then, Elecnor is now involved in the sector through 8 companies, 6 of which it owns outright, while holding a 50% stake in another and 33.3% in the eighth. The purpose of the 8 concession companies is the operation of a total of 3,233 kilometres of power lines, 2,291 km of which are directly attributable to Elecnor.

Brazil is one of Elecnor's main strategic markets. In addition to its operations in the electrical transmission concession business, the company also holds a key position in the wind power market, as the second-largest player in the country. It also undertakes infrastructure projects in the electricity, gas and telecommunications sectors, among others.
The new satellite, named Deimos-2, is expected to go into orbit in 2013. Of the total earmarked amount, approximately 12 million euros will be provided by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade by way of MINER-funded grants.

This amount will be used for purchasing the necessary parts, launching and insuring the satellite, engineering activities, and building and installing equipment at the satellite integration centre in Puertollano (Ciudad Real). Of the main resources at the centre, features include the clean room, the laboratory, the antenna and the monitoring equipment.

The project is expected to mobilise additional direct and indirect resources in the area over the 10-year period the project will be in force. Resources could top 40 million euros as regards recruiting and training qualified personnel, possible infrastructure and equipment expansion and renewal, and the economic and employment impact in the project development area.

Deimos-2 will complement the services currently being offered by its predecessor Deimos-1, which has been operating for the past two years. The new satellite will supply images of the Earth with up to 400 times more resolution than those provided by the Deimos-1 satellite. The Deimos-2 satellite weighs over 300 kg (triple the size of Deimos-1), is two metres long, and will use commercial applications for very different activities, such as services regarding precision agriculture, urban planning, cartography, security and intelligence.

Elecnor General Shareholders’ Meeting approves a 24.7% dividend increase per share paid up out of 2010 with respect to 2009

An extra dividend to the interim dividend paid in January this year will be paid out on 8 June and an extraordinary dividend shall be effective on 14 September

The new 2011-2013 strategic plan presented at the General Shareholders’ Meeting today forecasts accumulated increases in net profits and in sales of 55 and 37% respectively at the close of the three year period

Madrid, 18 May 2011.- The Elecnor, S.A. General Shareholders’ Meeting, held this Wednesday in Madrid, approved the proposed application of the 2010 fiscal year accounts, which were presented to the Board of Directors. This included an extra dividend of 0.1911 euros per share to be paid out on 8 June, in addition to an extraordinary dividend of 0.0437 euros, which shall be effective on 14 September. These remunerations were added to the interim dividend paid in January this year, which was 0.0526 euros per share. The total distributed paid up out of 2010 was thus 0.2874 euros per share, which represented an increase of 24.7% with respect to the 0.2305 euros of 2009.

The extraordinary dividend came about as a result of reorganising the company’s shares in several companies specialising in the operation of transmission lines in a concession scheme in Brazil, undertaken over the last year. Specifically, Elecnor sold its minority shares in seven of them, while in an eight it completed its presence up to 100% of capital. Considering all the direct and indirect effects of this operation, Elecnor’s consolidated net profit increased by 30.4% in 2010 with respect to 2009, to reach 126.6 million euros. Excluding these effects, the net consolidated result would have increased by 6.2%.

Strategic plans

At the General Shareholders’ Meeting, the President of Elecnor, Fernando Azaola, highlighted the loose compliance of the 2006-2010 Strategic Plan objectives, consistent with the duplication of the sales figures and consolidated net profits at the completion of 2005. At the end of 2010, the final accumulated increase of sales during the five year period would have been 125%, while that related to the consolidated net result (excluding the company operation in Brazil in 2010) was 120%, a percentage that would have been up to 168% if the effect of this company operation had been taken into account.

On completion of the 2006-2010 Plan, Elecnor presented the new 2011-2013 Strategic Plan at the General Shareholders’ Meeting this Wednesday. The quantitative objectives established for this three year period were based on the figures obtained at the end of 2010 as a starting point, excluding the effect of asset operations as undertaken last year in Brazil or any other that may take place in the future. The objectives are:

- A 37% accumulated increase of revenues, placing this figure at 2.418 million euros at the end of 2013. Of this total figure, 54% is forecast to correspond to the Spanish market and the remaining 46% to international markets.

- A consolidated net profit of 160 million euros, which is a 55% increase with respect to the close of 2010. In this case, Elecnor forecasts that international markets shall be the source of 62% of EAT, and that Spain shall provide the remaining 38%.

All this entails a significant investment effort. In effect, these three years consider total investments of 2.8 billion euros, of which 700 million euros shall be directly attributable to Elecnor by means of equity contributions in projects financed under the Project Finance type.

This photovoltaic power plant is the only one of its kind in the Valencian Community, boasting a large size and unique solar panel layout. It is located on top of the COAGRI cooperative buildings.

The plant’s 2 MW of power will produce enough energy to supply 800 homes

Alginet (Valencia), 16 May. Today, Elecnor presented its new rooftop photovoltaic power plant, which has been installed on top of the horticultural storage building belonging to Agrícola de Alginet, Sociedad Cooperativa Valenciana (COAGRI). The plant is located in the Valencian town of Alginet. Antonio Cejalvo, the Regional Government of Valencia’s Director General of Energy, and Enrique Girona, the town’s mayor, attended the presentation; during the technical tour of the plant, they were accompanied by Juan Gomis, Elecnor’s regional director for the Valencian Community.

A total of 8,463 modules were installed in the two industrial plots where the COAGRI facilities are located. The units utilized in the plant were manufactured by Atersa, an Elecnor subsidiary and a Spanish leader in photovoltaic solar panel production technology.

The two plots can create 2,000 kW of power, with estimated yearly energy generation of 2.6 GWh, producing enough energy to provide power to 800 homes per year.

The rooftop solar panels will utilize solar radiation, generating energy without producing any CO2 emissions. Given the amount of power that will be generated, this will result in savings of 1,400 tonnes of CO2 emissions which will not be released into the atmosphere.

In addition to the amount of power it will generate, the unique facility roof is also worthy of note. In the words of Juan Gomis, “installing the units was an immense engineering challenge. The two-level roof features curving forms (vaulted arches) at different heights, which, in addition to the 2 MW of power that it will generate, make this facility the only one of its kind in the Valencian Community”.

Elecnor is leasing the COAGRI building roofs, and the cooperative will receive financial remuneration in the form of rent.

Earnings grew by 7.4% thanks to the improved Spanish market and greater business activity in renewable energies

The company estimates that in 2011 the sales figure and net profit achieved in the previous period will be surpassed without taking into account the effects of the corporate reorganisation in Brazil last year

Madrid, 10 May 2011.- Elecnor obtained a consolidated net profit of 22.1 million euros in the first quarter, which is 9.1% more than the 20,2 million euros recorded in the same period of the previous year, thanks to the greater contribution from the wind division, the operational commencement of the Valdecaballeros (Badajoz) photovoltaic farm and the reorganisation of its shares in the different electrical distribution concessionary companies in Brazil undertaken in 2010.

Consolidated sales were 387.8 million euros in the quarter of the year, with an increase of 7.4%, compared to the same period in 2010. On this occasion, the growth driver was improved national business, which increased by 9%. Good performance in the wind business and the integration of acquisitions made in the last 12 months also influenced this improvement. The company’s international expansion is reflected in a 4.1% increase in billing, accounting for 32% of the total business figure.

Forecasts for 2011

After the results recorded in the first three months of the year and keeping in mind the pending portfolio of contracts, Elecnor Group estimates that both net profit and turnover in 2010 will exceed the levels achieved in the 2010 fiscal year, excluding all effects of the abovementioned reorganisation of its shares in the Brazilian concessional business.

Project finance agreement valued at 475 million euros

As part of its 2011-2013 Strategic Plan, Elecnor expects to invest a total of 2.8 billion euros in new projects, of which 700 million euros will be directly attributable to the company

Madrid, 18 April 2011.- Elecnor has signed a project finance agreement valued at 475 million euros, alongside a group of 9 national and international institutions, to fund 2 solar power plants of 50 MW each in the municipal district of Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real).

BBVA acted as the agent and structuring institution. Caja Madrid, Banco Popular, Banco Santander, Banesto, La Caixa, Bankinter, the Official Credit Institute and Crédit Agricole have also provided a share.

With this transaction, Elecnor finalises financing for three thermal solar power projects which are currently being developed in Spain alongside the Eiser infrastructure fund and Aries engineering. These projects will begin operations throughout 2012. In March 2010, Elecnor had in fact already signed a similar project finance agreement with 7 financial institutions valued at 225 million euros to build the first thermal solar power plant in Badajoz, also of 50 MW.

Elecnor's role as a developer and investor has significantly grown over the past years within fields related to large energy generation plants, electrical transmission lines and waste water treatment, among others.

As a result, Elecnor has gone a step further in projecting its national and international image in the fields of renewable energy (particularly wind energy with over 1,000 MW in development), thermal solar energy and photovoltaic solar energy. The latter is a joint agreement between Elecnor and its subsidiary Atersa, a leading Spanish manufacturer which produces all the necessary components for photovoltaic solar power stations.

The financing provided to the Ciudad Real thermal power plants is part of the investment effort put in place by Elecnor in its 2011-2013 Strategic Plan: 2.8 billion euros, of which 700 million euros is directly attributable to the company through capital contributions in projects that will be financed under a project finance model.

By strengthening the Occupational Risk Prevention Policy and improving safety conditions, Elecnor has reduced the frequency of accidents that have occurred since the company began recording them in 1967 to its lowest levels

Madrid, 31 March 2011.- Elecnor closed the 2010 fiscal year with the lowest frequency index of accidents in the workplace, standing at 20.6 since the company began taking records in 1967, almost 44 years ago. This indicator, which shows the number of accidents with medical leave calculated against total hours worked and employee numbers, is mainly due to the constant improvement and development of the integrated environmental management, quality and occupational risk prevention system.

Throughout the 2010 fiscal year, Elecnor continued to develop a series of initiatives which contributed to improving employee safety conditions. Specifically, 743 work audits were carried out and more than 20,400 safety inspections were performed to monitor the actual conditions under which work is performed. As a result of these safety checks, over 9,300 corrective measures were put in place to improve actual safety at worksites. These checks were aimed at both internal personnel and subcontractors in a bid to prevent risks for the latter, made up mainly of freelance, small and medium companies. On a final note, the following should be mentioned: training activities with over 6,200 attendees; the successful completion of external follow-up audits under the OHSAS 18001 standard carried out by AENOR; and the satisfactory performance of the compulsory External Legal Audit, as required under current regulations.

The frequency index represents the number of accidents in the workplace resulting in medical leave with respect to total hours worked, proportional to employee numbers.

The Elecnor Foundation and ETSII hold an electric vehicle seminar

Electric vehicles are successful due to their low cost, high performance and fast charging capacity.

The seminar is encompassed within the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Chair.

Madrid, 21 March 2011.- The Elecnor Foundation, through its Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Chair, and the Technical School of Industrial Engineers at the UPM have held a seminar that raised issues regarding electrical power drive systems applied to electric vehicles.

Dr Héctor Zelaya de la Parra, Senior Principal Scientist at ABB Corporate Research, explained: "Studying the benefits of electric vehicles is mainly due to an environmental demand; climate change is one of the most concerning issues in today's society. In fact, most of the large car companies are now developing prototypes or vehicles within the hybrid and electric markets, which will also lead to significant changes in infrastructure."

Divided into three conferences, the seminar raised very significant issues regarding the development of electric vehicles such as viable and sustainable transport. Issues raised included the analysis of advanced technology for electric vehicles, such as system design and parts, as well as a review of high-performance drive systems for these kinds of vehicles. The speaker analysed the challenges faced to ensure both low-cost and high-performance engines and drive systems. The third conference discussed fast battery chargers for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, a crucial component which will allow for the commercial success of these types of vehicles.

Spanish satellite Deimos-1 provides the first images from space of the earthquake in Japan

Madrid. 17 March 2011.- The Deimos-1 Earth observation satellite, which was launched into space by Elecnor in July 2009, was the first satellite to provide the UN with images from space of the areas which were devastated by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The Deimos-1 satellite is the first completely private Earth observation satellite in Europe. The satellite was developed by Elecnor Deimos and belongs to the Elecnor Group. It was designed to obtain high-resolution images of Earth which could later be processed and used for various applications including high-quality environmental management, fire prevention and monitoring, monitoring of urban areas, border controls, finding boats on the open sea, and more.

The satellite´s main instrument is a set of six cameras which face the Earth and which can acquire images on three different frequency bands. One of the Deimos-1 satellite´s most unique features is the very wide radius of images it can capture.
One of the main objectives is to boost skills taught at the ETSI Aeronautical School of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) with regard to space mission analysis, planning system design, advanced monitoring and technology for these kinds of satellites.

Training is one of the fundamental fields in which the Elecnor Foundation is involved. Its chairman Fernando Azaola explains that the Foundation "has always believed that teaching is a powerful tool towards progress and expansion". Within this field, the Elecnor Foundation has launched important initiatives alongside the UPM such as the Chair of Space Systems or the Chair of Renewable Energy, implemented at the ETSI Industrial School a year ago.

The chairman added that both agreements allow the Foundation to rely on "young talented people who are trained at quality institutions" and "to join forces with the next generation of engineers within fields that are paramount to the future of the global economic system". He concluded that the initiative was also committed to the "only tool that can guarantee sustainable development in society: innovation".

Javier Uceda, the vice chancellor of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, explained that the relationship between the university and the company is "fundamental in developing innovative fields". The UPM vice chancellor indicated that "efficient innovation ecosystems" are characterised by their inclusion of prestigious universities, which are able to attract talented people from around the world, within a very dynamic industrial environment and are made up of innovative companies that incorporate important technological components to their activities. Furthermore, he asserted that the University and Company Chairs are yet "another piece of the puzzle", as they give rise to the establishment of more stable alliances and collaborations.

'A marked difference' in space engineering

José Manuel Perales, the new Chair's director and the vice-rector of information technology and network services at the UPM, explains that the Chair will focus on developing "teaching and research projects". These include: cooperating in training programmes, sponsoring training activities for students (with prizes for end-of-degree projects and doctoral theses), carrying out space technology studies, and holding circulation and dissemination conferences.

The Chair will be permanently involved in ETSI Aeronautical School activities, linking it to science, technology and the most advanced management systems, and will also foster the implementation of new research, development and innovation projects (RDI).
The company has delivered on its forecasts for 2010, with on-order contract business surging by nearly 40% to 1.416 billion euros.

Profits have benefited from the capital gains from the restructure of its industrial holdings in Brazil.

Madrid, 23 February 2011.- Elecnor has returned consolidated net income for 2010 of 126.6 million euros, some 30.4% up on the like figure of 97.1 million euros reported the previous year, thanks to diversification of its activities internationally, the greater contribution from its renewable energy businesses and the capital gains attained from the restructure of its industrial interests in Brazil.

Higher profits came from improved margins for projects being carried out abroad, greater input from photovoltaic subsidiary Atersa, and the sound progress made by its Latin American subsidiaries. Key too was enhanced efficiency in the domestic market.

Repeated earnings would also actually have grown by 6.2% over the year before, even without including the capital gains managed in Brazil. Ebitda, which was not influenced by this extraordinary item, moved ahead by 14% in the period under review. Ebitda’s fine performance was decisively underpinned by firm containment of overheads implemented in recent years.

Consolidated sales came in at 1.762 billion euros in 2010, 5% up on the previous year. The driver for growth was once again international business, which already accounts for 36% of total group sales. Turnover also saw a bigger contribution from the renewable energies arm, as well as the larger industrial plants.

Elecnor accomplishes estimates for 2010

The company has achieved its forecasts for the 2010 financial year. Specifically Elecnor had predicted that both net income and sales turnover would outstrip 2009 levels. Elecnor has thus, yet again, managed to keep up growth in spite of the adverse economic environment.

A larger contract portofolio

International diversification has meant that the order book for outstanding contract work has grown sharply by 39.2% in the year, reaching 1.416 billion euros. This business confirms the Elecnor’s robustness and reinforces the company’s estimates in its 2010-2013 Strategy Plan, thanks to which it continues to be an international benchmark in project development and management in the infrastructure and energy market.

Elecnor is to perform the turn-key execution of the electric infrastructure for the marine energy plant at Armintza, Vizcaya

Madrid, 17 February 2011.- Elecnor has won a turn-key contract with Ente Vasco de Energía (EVE) to supply and install the infrastructure required to bring the wave-power on-shore produced at Armintza’s bimep (Biscay Marine Energy Platform) some 30 kilometres north of Bilbao. This is the largest budget item for which the EVE has awarded a contract in its entire history.

Specifically, Elecnor will be responsible for installing four sub-sea power lines which will carry the energy from the generation zone at sea to the on-shore junction box. It will also perform the installation of four on-shore sunken lines running from the junction box to a power sub-station which will be the one that subsequently enables the electricity generated to be off-loaded into the grid. The contract has nine-month execution schedule.

The bimep is a test facility that seeks to convert wave power into electricity. It will have a total power of 20 MW distributed over four off-shore moorings or connection points of 5 MW each. Located out at sea opposite the port of Armintza, the facility will be a reference point worldwide for this novel energy source and will create 200 qualified jobs both directly and indirectly.

Madrid, 16 December 2010.- Elecnor has successfully culminated the reorganisation of the stakes it held in eight electricity concession companies in Brazil, after the purchase and sale contract announced on 15 May of this year was concluded, following approval of the relevant regulatory bodies and financial institutions.

Specifically, its Brazilian subsidiary, Elecnor Transmissao de Energia, has sold all of its stakes in seven Brazilian electric power concession companies to a subsidiary of the Chinese company, State Grid International Development, for an overall amount of 934.4 million Brazilian reais (approximately 412 million euros), including the debt. In this way it has concluded the sale of the 25% held in Expansión Transmissao de Energía Elétrica and Expansión Transmissao Itumbiara Marimbondo and the 33% it owned in Ribeirao Preto, Serra Paracatu, Poços de Caldas, Itumbiara and Serra da Mesa.

At the same time, Elecnor has also completed the purchase of the shares it did not hold in the Brazilian energy concession company, LT Triángulo. The acquisition of two-thirds of the capital of the concessionaire from Lintran Do Brasil Participacoes and Isolux Energia e Participacoes totalled 352.4 million reais (around 155.6 million euros), also including the debt.

Significant presence in Brazil

Following the transaction, Elecnor has culminated the reorganisation of its concession portfolio in Brazil, where it has divested itself of seven minority interests and acquired 100% control of LT Triangulo. Brazil has become one of Elecnor’s key targets within the framework of its 2010-2013 strategic plan. In addition to its significant presence in electricity concessions, the Spanish multinational is the second largest operator of wind energy in the country. Likewise, the company recently obtained a new concession for the construction and operation of a transmission line and an electricity substation in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul.

The Regional Governmet of Galicia set to participate in cooperation projects organised by the Elecnor Foundation

Santiago de Compostela, 13 December 2010.- The Head of the Department assisting the Regional Premier and for Public Administrations and Justice, Alfonso Rueda, met with representatives of the Elecnor Foundation on Monday 13 December, in order to explore channels of collaboration between the two entities in cooperation projects.
•The plant has 10 MW of installed power and will serve more than 7,800 households in the province of Badajoz.

Madrid, 13 December 2010.- Elecnor inaugurated a photovoltaic solar power plant in Valdecaballeros (Badajoz) today in an official act attended by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and the Environment of the government of Extremadura, José Luis Navarro, along with leading representatives of the company that sponsored the project.

During the inauguration, the Chairman of Elecnor, Fernando Azaola, underscored that "the Valdecaballeros solar power plant has today become one of the most notable symbols of Elecnor". The plant was registered in the Preassigned Remuneration Register in the fourth quarter of 2009 and was built in 2010. It is a 10 MW plant whose fixed structure and modules were supplied by the Elecnor subsidiary, Atersa. The plant occupies a land area equivalent to 22 football fields and will generate enough clean energy to supply 7,815 households in Extremadura on a regular basis. The power plant will prevent the emission of more than 19,300 tons of CO2, which has the same effect as 3,188,000 trees.

In his speech, the Chairman of Elecnor noted Extremadura’s commitment to clean energy, to the point where "within a very short time, just a few months, the percentage of electricity usage n the region based on clean energy will be somewhere around 90%, one of the highest levels in the world". Likewise, Azaola highlighted Elecnor’s commitment to renewable energies and noted that it is one of the sectors that will drive economic and social progress in the years to come.

Renewable energies

In recent years, Elecnor has become one of the leading operators in renewable energies in both domestic and international markets, building and operating plants with more than 1,300 MW of installed power all told. The new plant will reinforce Elecnor’s position in the concessions markets, in keeping with the Company’s strategic objectives as part of the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan.

Elecnor wins a new tender in Brazil

Elecnor has won the tender to build a transmission line and an electrical substation in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul
This tender, the second largest of the bids, allows for the construction of a 295-km power line of 230 kilovolts, which will link the towns of Anastácio and Corumbá in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, located in the south of the Central-West region of the country. Elecnor will also build an electrical substation with 200 MVA of power in the town of Corumbá, also in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The work is expected to last 24 months. As well as improving quality and reliability of the energy supply in the state of Mato Grosso, the project is also expected to create approximately 1,350 direct employment positions.

Brazil, a strategic market

This new investment will contribute to Elecnor’s growth in the bidding market, in keeping with the company’s strategic objectives outlined in the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan. This tender also strengthens Elecnor’s already firmly-established market presence in Brazil. The company is involved in electrical transmission systems and renewable energy, and is now the second largest wind energy operator in the country.

Elecnor to build a satellite Integration Centre in Puertollano

The Integration Centre will begin operations with DEIMOS-2, the first Spanish private satellite with very high resolution capabilities

Deimos Castilla La Mancha will design and integrate this Earth observation satellite

Madrid, 29 November 2010.- Elecnor has unveiled its new subsidiary Deimos Castilla La Mancha’s project in Puertollano as well as the construction of the DEIMOS-2 satellite, which will be the first Spanish private satellite with very high resolution capabilities.

The new company has been incorporated into Elecnor’s technology area and is located in La Nava industrial park in Puertollano. The company’s facilities will include a clean room which will be used for artificial satellite integration.
The DEIMOS-2 optical observation satellite will be designed, integrated, verified and validated within these facilities. The satellite will take very high resolution images (1 metre) of the Earth in various wavelengths. These images will provide products and services with regard to agriculture, civil protection, the environment, climate change, urban planning, cartography, security and intelligence.

This satellite will orbit alongside DEIMOS-1, which was launched by Elecnor in July 2009. The simultaneous use of both satellites will allow us to offer complete Earth observation products within all markets.
The Deimos Castilla La Mancha building will also have a tracking station with a parabolic antenna of 11 metres in diameter and a satellite control centre, which will operate the new satellite over its seven years of useful life. It will also control other satellites from various countries with whom commercial agreements have been set up.

Thanks to Elecnor’s investment in Puertollano, its Deimos subsidiary will become one of the few satellite integrators in place in Europe, and will reaffirm Castilla La Mancha as a region specialising in aerospace. Integrating the satellite will be a significant technological feat, given that it will be one of 10 satellites currently orbiting the Earth with the highest resolution capabilities. It will provide a unique and indispensable tool for our security, agricultural sustainability, a decrease in the impact of natural disasters and natural resources monitoring.

Sales have increased to 1.194 billion euros, boosted by the group's foreign presence.

Madrid, 10 November 2010.- In the first 9 months of 2010, Elecnor recorded consolidated net profits of 76.5 million euros, 3.1% more than the 74.2 million euros recorded in the same period last year.

This increase is due to improvements in profits earned through projects that are being carried out abroad and the growing contribution of Brazilian subsidiaries, due in part to the strengthening Brazilian real against the euro. In addition, the company has strengthened its containment policy and strict control on general expenses, which were being applied in previous quarters.

Consolidated sales reached 1.194 billion euros in the third quarter, up 1.2% when compared to the same period in 2009. Once again, the driving force behind this growth was favourable international business performance, which compensated for decreased activities on the traditional domestic market. Elecnor’s photovoltaic solar energy subsidiary Atersa also generated positive contributions, which noticeably increased its sales when compared to the previous fiscal year.

These results have met the 2010 predictions made by Elecnor after publishing its financial statements for the first half of the year. The company estimated that both net profit and turnover in 2010 would exceed the levels reached in the 2009 fiscal year. The company therefore anticipates it will maintain growth despite the rather unfavourable economic environment, thereby fulfilling the objectives defined in the Strategic Plan.

The Elecnor Foundation and INDAP have signed and agreement to implement social infraestructure in Chile

Madrid, 3 November 2010.- The Elecnor Foundation and the Institute of Agricultural Development in Chile (INDAP) have signed an agreement to promote development in rural areas within the Andean country. This strategic alliance will pave the way towards supporting Chilean small agriculture with regard to issues such as carrying out social infrastructure projects, increasing the use of unconventional renewable energies and improving cultural heritage.

When signing the agreement, the Elecnor general manager Rafael Martín de Bustamante, and the INDAP national director Ricardo Ariztía, highlighted the fact that the agreement aims to “promote institutional objectives directed towards improving the lives of people residing in Chilean rural areas”. To do so, programmes, policies and instruments will be implemented, which are aimed at improving the use of natural and production resources of Chilean small farmers.

Thanks to the Elecnor Foundation’s contribution, Chilean small farmers will improve their use of natural resources by applying renewable energies to carrying out their agricultural and production projects. The Foundation will assist with implementing the infrastructure that is necessary to allow for the generation, circulation, training and promotion of the technology needed to put these projects into practice.

The Elecnor Foundation assumes this commitment thanks to the abilities and resources provided by Elecnor, one of Spain’s leading engineering, development and infrastructure-construction groups working in the energy, environment and information technology fields, which boasts stable presence in over 20 countries.

“It’s vital that these types of conferences take place within universities because this is the birthplace of the thoughts and ideas of the future generations who will take the next new steps”, said Pedro Duque, director of the Elecnor Foundation. At the same time, Jesús Félez, director of ETSII, highlighted the need for “all sections of society, including, of course, universities and businesses, to collaborate in the search for solutions for sustainable development”.

Divided into two round tables, the conferences tackled the fundamental questions that condition sustainable production and consumption in all their forms.

Sustainable construction
The expert participants underlined the importance of energy service companies able to design and implement energy efficiency measures in buildings. They also discussed the self-sufficient solar house from Rivas Vaciamadrid’s local energy agency, presented by Professor Francisco Javier Neila from UPM, considering it an example of a building in harmony with the environment. This unusual building is able to regulate its own temperature (keeping it at 23 degrees) and its air currents using a built-in patented energy storage system.

Efficient street-lighting
Following her observations on street-lighting during the inauguration of the conference, Ana Botella, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for the Environment for Madrid City Council, announced “a 20% saving in Madrid City Council’s energy consumption”. This represents an economic saving of 10 million euros a year. The experts gathered at the ETSII then discussed the importance of optimising the illumination of big cities, which accounts for 80% of energy consumption. As well as emphasising the backing of institutions and their staff, the experts unanimously highlighted and supported the use of sustainable lighting systems such as that afforded by the LED system, which improves safety and visibility, prevents accidents, enhances the quality of the light and is more efficient.

Elecnor’s subsidiary, Atersa, completes the automation of its plant in Almussafes

Madrid, 14 October 2010.- Atersa, an Elecnor subsidiary company pioneer in the photovoltaic solar energy sector, has acquired a new laminator which improves the quality of its products and completes the automation of its plant. Among its many advantages, the equipment boasts a cooling chamber after the lamination process.

Since its inauguration on 28 April 2008, the Almussafes plant has run four automated lines and one semi-automated line for special designs. The factory has gradually installed different robots to perfect the manufacturing process and increase the efficiency of the modules. In this way, the Atersa plant has adapted to the needs of its customers, creating highly durable modules which are subject to multiple and rigorous quality control checks. The factory has a standard range from 5W to 277W, and it also supplies special designs for architectural integration.

This new purchase represents a 30% increase in this fifth production line when compared to the laminators previously used.

In addition to the new laminator, a seventh axis has been added to one of the existing robots and a new robot has been introduced in the framing area, increasing the final production process by 25% in the framing and border cutting zone.

•With this new concession, it achieves its objective of doubling its operational wind power capacity within three years.

Madrid, 30 August 2010.- The Elecnor Group, through its subsidiary Enerfín, already has over 300 MW of wind power awarded in Brazil after the tender award on 26 August.

The Spanish multinational has been awarded 46 MW of wind power in the second invitation to tender issued in the Latin American country for promoting renewable energies. It had already won 96 MW in the first award in December, and this new tender award strengthens Elecnor’s position as one of the main wind power operators in the country.

These new awards have also been given in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where it will operate with the Osorio wind farm (250 MW of power) and the Palmares do Sul wind farm (50 MW of power). The estimated investment for developing the awarded 46 MW amounts to 100 million euros.

The new contract reinforces the company’s commitment to international markets and consolidates its business activity in wind power. The Group, through is subsidiary Enerfín, participates in the construction and operation of over 1000 MW in Spain and America. This year the company launched its new 2010-2013 Strategic Plan, in which one of its basic objectives is growth in the renewable energies sector. Thanks to this recent award and to its expansion plans in Spain, Canada, the United States and Brazil, the company endeavours to double the power capacity that it currently has in operation over the next four years.

Elecnor will build a combined cycle power plan in Mexico.

•A contract worth 194 million euros was awarded to build a 400 MW power plant within the state of Sonora.

•These new facilities bolster the project portfolio developed by Elecnor abroad.

Madrid, 12 August 2010.- A consortium led by Elecnor and Sener has been awarded a contract to design, build and implement the “Agua Prieta II” combined cycle power plant within the Mexican state of Sonora, in the country's north-east. The facilities will have an installed generational capacity of around 400 MW.

The total contract value amounts to 194 million euros (252 million dollars) and it will be carried out as "financed public works". The power plant will have two combustion turbogenerators, which will use natural gas as the fuel base. In addition, the consortium will be in charge of implementing an adjacent solar field of 12 MW to create a "solar power combined cycle" hybrid. The combined cycle power plant is estimated to begin operations in May 2013.

This new contract awarded to Elecnor strengthens its commitment to international markets and consolidates its activity within large energy power plants. The company’s geographical diversification already sees 40% of its total revenue coming from abroad. The portfolio of contracts pending implementation on 30 June 2010 exceeded 1.5 billion euros, of which over half corresponded to contracts obtained from outside Spain.

The Elecnor Group launched its new 2010-2013 strategic plan this year, with one of the main pillars being the group’s international growth. It plans to increase its sales with this by 50% and its profits by 65% over these 4 financial years.

The Elecnor Group increases net profit by 6.9% thanks to international business.

First Half of 2010

•Sales have increased to 765.8 million euros, boosted by the group's foreign presence.

•The portfolio of contracts pending implementation has increased by around 50% in the first half of the year and exceeds 1.5 billion euros.

Madrid, 3 August 2010.- In the first half of 2010, the Elecnor Group recorded a consolidated net profit of 48.3 million euros, 6.9% higher than the 45.1 million recorded in the same period last year.

This increase in profits is due to the improvement of margins in projects that are being carried out abroad and the growing contribution of Brazilian subsidiaries, thanks to the strengthening Brazilian real against the euro, amongst other reasons. In addition, the company has reinforced its containment policy and strict control on general expenses that were being applied in previous quarters.

Consolidated expenses reached 765.8 million euros in the first half of the year, with an increase of 1.4%, compared to the same period in 2009. Once again, the driving force of the growth was due to favourable international business performance, given that this makes up 38% of the group's total sales. The turnover reached outside of Spain grew 7.1%, which completely compensated for the 1.8% decrease in sales across Spain. Domestic business contributions to the total income amount have levelled to 62%. In any case, the incorporation of the company Audeca, S.L.U. - which is dedicated to the preservation of roads and natural areas - and the Villanueva wind farm in Valencia becoming operational, have helped sustain the turnover generated within Spanish borders.

Increase in the portfolio of contracts

International diversification of the group has enabled the portfolio of contracts pending implementation to grow 49.1% in the first half of the year compared to the 2009 year end, reaching 1.516 billion euros. This portfolio ensures almost one year of company activity, reaffirming the forecast predicted by the company in the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan.

Forecasts for 2010

After the profits registered in the first six months of the year and keeping in mind the pending portfolio of contracts, the Elecnor Group estimates that both net profit and turnover in 2010 will exceed the levels reached in the 2009 fiscal year. In this regard, the company anticipates it will maintain growth despite the rather unfavourable economic environment, thereby fulfilling the objectives defined in the Strategic Plan.

Elecnor is awarded a contract in Mexico
•It will build five substations in the states of Baja California and Sonora and four transmission lines

•The contract bolsters the portfolio of projects developed by Elecnor abroad

Madrid, 2 August 2010.- A consortium led by Elecnor has been awarded a contract to design, supply, build and implement five substations in the Mexican states of Baja California and Sonora and four transmission lines in the areas of Baja California and the north-west.

The total contract value amounts to 27 million euros (35 million dollars) and it will be implemented in the form of financed public works. The five substations have 305 megavolt amperes (MVA) of capacity and 19 feeders. The four transmission lines have a total length of 59.74 km.

The new contract awarded to Elecnor reinforces its commitment to international markets. The company’s geographic diversification already has about 30 percent of its total revenue coming from abroad. The portfolio of contracts pending implementation on 31 December 2009 exceeded 1 billion euros, of which over half corresponded to contracts from outside Spain.

The Elecnor Group launched its new 2010-2013 strategic plan this year, in which one of its main pillars is the group’s international growth, with which it plans to increase its sales by 44 percent and its profit by 65 percent over the four financial years.

First anniversary of the Elecnor Group Deimos-1 satellite launch

• The launch took place on 29 July 2009 at 8:46 p.m. from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
• This year, the satellite has completed 5,352 orbits around the Earth (237 million kilometres or 308 return trips to the Moon, or one and a half times the distance between the Earth and the Sun)
• Deimos-1 is the first satellite to gain coverage of South America’s tropical forest, and in a very short time.

Madrid 29 July 2010.- Today, the satellite was launched one year ago. Exactly one year ago, communications were carried out at the Boecillo ground control a few hours after the launch, and the first image was provided on 7 August. For 1.5 months, its on-board instruments were calibrated and for the 10 remaining months, its ground and flight systems operation have been optimised to reach the stable value at the beginning of this year, 2010.

Milestones reached

Deimos-1 is the first Spanish Earth observation satellite, recorded in the Spanish Register of Launched Outer Space Objects under number 9. It is owned by the Elecnor Group subsidiary Deimos Imaging.

The satellite has stabilised at a current production rate of between one and two million square kilometres in daily images. This is the equivalent of obtaining two to four times the Earth’s surface area. Image quality is very high. Numerous clients use them to solve territorial information requirements. This vast production makes the Deimos-1 an ideal monitoring system of large areas. In fact, the European Union and the United Nations rely on its data to carry out the inventory of all tropical forests around the world.

The team at Ground Control, Process and Applications of the Boecillo Technology Park in Valladolid has demonstrated extensive preparation and great skill at adapting to circumstances. The satellite is controlled from this Centre and problems are solved within it or at the monitoring stations. Processing downloaded images is also carried out as well as the conversion of real applications of interest to clients. The efficient Deimos Imaging operation highlights the skills of the Spanish university students and experts involved, and places this team in a position to face new challenges in the future.

Deimos-1 has managed to offer immediate assessment services in flooded areas in any part of the world, very unlike the American and French satellites that are currently available.
Elecnor wins a new concession in Brazil

•The concession represents an investment of 42 million euros

Madrid, 15 June 2010.- Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (Aneel) awarded Elecnor an electrical concession including a transmission line and an electrical substation in the state of Maranhão. It represents an investment of roughly 42 million euros, which will be financed with both capital contributions and non-recourse long-term debt.

The awarded lot consists of the construction of 240 kilometres of 230-kilovolt electrical line and a substation, all for an amount of 35 million euros. The works are expected to last 24 months and the term of the concession is 30 years. In addition to improving power supply quality and reliability in the State of Maranhão, the project is estimated to create 500 new direct jobs.

Brazil, a strategic market

This new investment will help Elecnor grow in the concessions market, furthering the company’s strategic objectives within its 2010-2013 Strategic Plan. It also reinforces its position in Brazil, a market where it is already consolidated in both electrical transmission systems and the field of renewable energy.

Elecnor enters the roadway preservation sector with the purchase of Audeca from the Ploder Group

Madrid, 10 June 2010.- Elecnor reached an agreement with the Ploder Group in order to purchase 100% of Audeca’s capital, one of the main Spanish firms in the comprehensive preservation and maintenance of roadways sector.

The purchase amount rose to 23 million euros, with 50% (11.5 million euros) being financed by a loan without recourse provided to Elecnor. This was granted by a union of financial institutions made up of Caja Madrid, CAM and Banco Popular.

As well as roadway preservation and maintenance, Audeca provides services related to the protection, conservation and regeneration of the environment. In 2009, the company’s turnover rose to 39 million euros, while its net profit reached 3.3 million.

Strategic Move

Elecnor’s entry to the preservation of roadways sector can be viewed within the wider context of maintenance activities on the Spanish market, as outlined in the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan. This plan aims to continue diversifying activities and to strengthen recurring income stemming from long-term contracts within the company’s turnover.

The environmental conservation and regeneration activities developed by Audeca are also in line with the objective outlined in Elecnor’s 2010-2013 Strategic Plan to increase the latter’s presence within the environmental sector, which has dealt up until now with urban and rural waste treatment as well as water purification.

Elecnor’s 2010-2013 Strategic Plan aims to increase the Group’s consolidated sales and net profit to 44% and 65% respectively, by the end of 2013. In order to meet its goal, Elecnor will be supported by: increasing internationalisation (in 2009, sales abroad represented over 40% of the total); the consolidation of its commitment to renewable energies; the renewed boost for innovation and technology and the consolidation of diversifying its activities in sectors such as the Environment and Maintenance.

Elecnor will participate in the construction of the first Hydro-Wind turbine power plant in the World

A pioneering project developed by Gorona del Viento El Hierro S.A. which will generate sufficient power to cover all of El Hierro’s electricity requirements using clean energy

With the recent award of contracts for the assembly and start-up of the electricity and control systems at the plant, Elecnor is now working on four contracts for the island’s facility

Madrid, 25 May 2010.- Gorona del Viento El Hierro S.A., the company charged with the design, development and execution of the El Hierro Hydro-Wind Turbine Power Plant, has awarded Elecnor contracts for the assembly and start-up of the plant’s electrical and control systems worth a total of 6.49 million euros. The engineering firm will therefore be responsible for completing the final work required in order for the El Hierro Hydro-Wind Turbine Power Plant to enter service.

With this latest award, Elecnor is now working on four contracts relating to this pioneering project, the first of its kind in the world. Elecnor was also awarded the contract to supply the power plant’s main transformers, and it was the company chosen to supply and install the turbo generators and the pumping system for the El Hierro Hydro-Wind Turbine Power Plant.

The first Hydro-Wind Turbine Power plant

This project involves the design, development, construction and start-up of a hydro-wind turbine system that is capable of covering all of El Hierro’s electricity requirements using only renewable energies. The complete facility therefore comprises a wind farm, a pumping unit and a hydroelectric plant. The wind farm is capable of delivering electricity directly into the power network while at the same time powering a pumping unit that collects water in a raised reservoir in the form of a stored energy system. The Hydroelectric Plant uses this stored potential energy, thus guaranteeing electricity supplies and ensuring stability in the network.

Energy self-sufficiency through the use of hydro-wind turbine power will offer El Hierro significant social, economic and environmental advantages. Among other benefits, the island will no longer require its annual consumption of 6,000 tonnes of diesel (40,000 barrels of imported oil), and it will reduce its emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere by 18,700 tonnes every year.

•The General Shareholders Meeting approves the distribution, next 8 June, of a final dividend of 0.1784 euros per share charged to 2009

•The 2010-2013 Strategic Plan provides for increases of 44% and 65% in the consolidated sales and net profit figures, respectively, by the end of the plan

•It also provides for doubling investments, up to a total of 900 million during the four-year period

Madrid, 19 May 2010. The General Shareholders Meeting of Elecnor, S.A., which was held today in Madrid, has approved the 2009 annual accounts and has proposed the application of the results. This includes the payment, next 8 June, of a final dividend of 0.1784 euros per share, which comes on top of the interim dividend of 0.052 euros per share already distributed last 10 December.

The total dividend per share therefore amounts to 0.2305 euros per share, more than a 6.4% increase over what was paid and charged to the 2008 results. This places the payout at 36.7% and the yield at 3.93%.

2009 financial year and the first quarter of 2010

The Elecnor group increased its consolidated bottom line in 2009 by 3.8% with respect to the previous financial year, amounting to 97.1 million euros. In 2008 the bottom line was 93.6 million. In turn, consolidated sales amounted to nearly 1.7 billion euros at 31 December 2009, which represents a decrease of 12.2%.

The main factor that explains the decrease in total revenue is the major slump in the Spanish photovoltaic market as a result of new legislation. Within this framework, it was possible for consolidated profit to grow mainly due to the greater contribution by operations in foreign markets (in sales revenues and in margins), which represent over 40% of the Group’s business activity.

Moreover, the Elecnor Group reinforced its containment policy regarding overhead and bad debt thanks to an integrated risk management strategy.

With respect to the first quarter of the current 2010 financial year, the bottom line was 20.2 million euros, which represents an increase of 7.5% versus the 18.8 million in the same period of 2009. Meanwhile the consolidated sales figure dropped by 2.9% to 361 million euros at 31 March, versus the 372 million in the first quarter of 2009.

2010-2013 Strategic Plan

Throughout the General Shareholders Meeting, the Chairman of Elecnor, Fernando Azaola, presented the objectives of the Group’s new 2010-2013 Strategic Plan:

•Accumulated growth of the consolidated sales figure: 44%, to over 2.4 billion euros at the end of 2013.

•Accumulated growth of the consolidated bottom line: 65%, amounting to 160 million euros by the same date.

During this period, the Elecnor Group plans on investments amounting to 906 million euros. This will more than double the 430 million euros that were invested during the immediately proceeding 4 years (2005 to 2009). A highlight includes the estimated 349 million in wind energy developments. The designated investment areas include North America, with 289 million.

Elecnor restructures its shares in 8 brazilian electrical dealers

It has sold its shares in 7 of these companies for 400 million euros and takes complete control of the 8th company for 150 million euros

Madrid, 13 May 2010. Elecnor has launched its new web page, www.elecnor.es, to provide users with a complete information tool with easy access. All elements of the web page have been optimised in this renovation, including the design, content, functionality and navigability. Among the main novelties, the web page now includes a version in French, the multi-media content has been increased, it has an improved design and it facilitates user browsing.

Elecnor has also developed the web page’s information by incorporating useful and interesting content, as well as additional multi-media resources. It represents an extensive information resource that is structured into five, clearly defined blocks: Elecnor Group, Business Areas, Shareholders and Investors, Human Resources and Press Room. The composition is conceived for easy and intuitive browsing so users know where they are at all times. The web page is thus more functional, and it reduces the time it takes to access the desired information, among other advantages.

Considering its international expansion, where French markets have considerable weight, www.elecnor.es can now be consulted in French, in addition to the usual versions in Spanish and English. Another objective of the web page’s renovation is an improved design to provide greater clarity and a bigger visual impact.

Elecnor’s web page can be accessed at http://www.elecnor.es.

The Elecnor Group improves its net result by 7.5%, reaching 20.2 million euros

First quarter of 2010

•Consolidated turnover fell by 2.9% as a result of the downturn in Spanish markets

•The Group increased its sales by 16% in foreign markets

Madrid, 7 May 2010.- The Elecnor Group posted a consolidated net result of 20.2 million euros in the first quarter of 2010, an increase of 7.5% compared with the 18.8 million euros of the same period in 2009.

Consolidated sales fell by 2.9%, dropping to 361 million euros last March 31, in contrast to 372 million in the first quarter of 2009. This sales performance is due to the downturn in the Spanish markets where the Group is present, especially in wind power, where the 40 million euros posted during the first three months of 2009 dropped to just 4 million this year. A greater selectivity when choosing new projects and customers, which will help prevent non-payments, also contributed to this.

Thus, sales in Spain dropped by 6% compared with last year, but they still represent 78.5% of the turnover. On the other side, the Group grew by 16% in foreign markets, which increased their share of the total turnover to 21.5%.

Elecnor’s Shareholders’ General Meeting will take place next 19 May. The Board’s proposals include issuing a final dividend of 0.1784 euros per share against the 2009 results. If approved, this will represent an increase of 6.4% in total dividend per share compared with the dividends issued against 2008.

Atersa will take part in a Benin rural lighting project

Atersa was chosen by the Fundación Energía sin Fronteras (Energy without Borders Foundation) to carry out this project

Last March, Atersa, an Elecnor Group subsidiary, installed 120 street lamps with LED light technology (ATERSA LED2) with 30W of combined power in Benin.

Atersa was chosen by the Fundación Energía sin Fronteras, who, on behalf of the Messengers of Peace Association in Benin, is carrying out a rural electrification project. The electrified area encompasses all villages surrounding Fô-Bouré, which is the village in which the Messengers of Peace missionaries are based. Fô-Bouré is part of the Sinendé district and is located in North Benin, about 600 km from Benin’s economic capital, Cotonou.

In 2006, Atersa was involved in the first phase of the project by providing photovoltaic solar energy electricity to the various buildings of a medical, nutritional and refuge centre, and also installed public lighting in different places in Fô-Bouré. This second phase will provide electricity to the areas that were not covered last time and the whole population will be involved in the project. Local personnel, who have been provided prior training, helped throughout the whole street lamp installation process and therefore have the necessary skills to carry out future maintenance.

ATERSA enters the Board of Directors of the EPIA

ATERSA General Manager Virgilio Navarro Sánchez-Sicilia has been appointed Vice-president of the EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association), the largest photovoltaic solar power international association.

• It concerns the 50-MW Astexol-2 plant

Madrid, 8 March 2010.- The Elecnor Group has signed a Project Finance for an amount of 275 million with a group of Spanish banks to finance a thermosolar project in Badajoz. More specifically, the funds will be used for the Astexol-2 thermoelectric solar plant, with a power of 50 MW.

The plant is being developed through Dioxipe Solar, a company promoted by Elecnor, Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas and the Eiser infrastructure fund. The facilities, with a power of 50 MW and cylindrical parabolic concentration technology, will generate clean energy equivalent to the yearly consumption of 37,000 homes, thus preventing 70,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions yearly. In addition to the environmental benefits, this project will have a significant social-economic impact on the area, through the creation of 500 direct jobs during the construction stage and 50 further jobs during the exploitation cycle.

About the Elecnor Group
•The work will be carried out in a period of 41 months

Madrid, 2 March 2010.- The Ministry for Public Works, through the rail administrator Adif, has awarded Elecnor Group the electrification work of the AVE rail section between Ourense and Santiago for an amount of 29.82 million euros.

The contract entails installing overhead lines adapted to speeds of up to 350 kilometres an hour. As well as electrification, the contract includes the installation of all the associated systems in the Santiago-Ourense core, such as tunnel lighting, point heating and energy supply to technical buildings and telecommunication points.

To carry out the project, Elecnor Group will have a period of 41 months divided into the implementation phase and the maintenance period, being the first high-speed railway section to enter into service in Galicia.

Railways

Elecnor Group actively participates in the development of rail infrastructure at a national level, when it comes to high-speed railway lines as well as conventional lines, metros, trams, etc. The company's role in the development of high-speed rail with completely Spanish overhead line technology, which allows trains to travel at 380 km/h and is already operational in the Madrid-Barcelona AVE, can be highlighted.

The Elecnor Group increased its consolidated net result by 3.8% in 2009 to 97.1 million euros

• Consolidated sales amounted to 1,678 million Euros

Madrid, February 24 2010.- In 2009, Elecnor Group obtained a 3.8 % increase in consolidated net results compared to the previous year, placing them at 97.1 million Euros. In 2008 they amounted to 93.6 million Euros.

Results for the parent company Elecnor totalled 54.6 million Euros, revealing a 10% increase regarding the previous year.

Consolidated sales on December 31 2009 stood at 1,678 million Euros, showing a 12.2% drop.

The decrease in turnover can be explained primarily by the standstill the Spanish photovoltaic market is experiencing as a consequence of the new legal framework. In fact, Atersa, the filial company specialising in photovoltaic solar energy, saw its sales drop last year to 102 million Euros after obtaining 422 million Euros in 2008.

In this framework, consolidated results have been achieved, mainly, thanks to increased operations (in sales volume and margins) on foreign markets, which make up for over 40% of the Group’s activity. In this sense, the most notable examples are the electricity concessionaires that Elecnor has stock in in Brazil, a country that has become the company’s second market after Spain.

Furthermore, the Elecnor Group has strengthened its fixed expenses containment and non-performance assets policies, by implementing an integral risk management strategy.

Four spheres of activity

Throughout 2009, the Elecnor Group has completed its reorganisation into four spheres of activity: networks and infrastructures, renewable energies, information systems and technologies and concessions.

The current Strategic Plan grants special importance to the development of the concessional sector, with actions commencing in Brazil (with the aforementioned electricity concessionaires) and in Spain, with different projects in the water management industry. The Plan also aims to strengthen the Group’s internationalisation, since, as aforementioned, in 2009, 41% of the sales came from foreign markets.

Elecnor to build the Juncaril substation in Granada

•The contract awarded to Elecnor in a temporary consortium with Elimco will be executed in a term of 10 months

•The contract amounts to 7.42 million euros

Madrid, 5 January 2010.- Ferrocarriles de Andalucía has awarded to Elecnor, in a temporary consortium with Elimco, the construction of the transformer substation to be built in Albolote (next to the Juncaril industrial park), as well as the adaptation of the Sevillana Endesa substation in Atarfe; it will also include the installation of the electric line between both facilities to guarantee their supply.

This project will provide electric supply for the light metro in the northern area route (Albote-Maracena).

The substation to be built in Albolote (Juncaril) has 66/22 kV and the Sevillana Endesa substation in the park in Atarfe will have 66 kV. Elecnor will also lay out the 66 kV underground electric line connecting both facilities to ensure supply.

The Granada Metro will be 15.9 kilometres long and serve 26 stations (23 at ground level and 3 underground).

Elecnor awarded a preallocation for 150 solar thermal megawatts

•Corresponding to the ASTE 1A, ASTE 1B and ASTEXOL-2 plants in Ciudad Real and Badajoz, with an investment of approximately 935 million euros

•The facilities have been entered in the preallocation register for renewable energy established by the Ministry of Industry

Madrid, 28 December 2009.- The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade has awarded the preallocation for the three solar thermal plants to be developed by Elecnor in Ciudad Real and Badajoz, jointly with Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas and Eiser Global Infrastructure Fund. Thus, the facilities’ 150 MW are entered into the renewable energy preallocation register established by the Ministry pursuant to Royal Decree-Law 6/2009.

These are the three plants named ASTE 1A and ASTE 1B, located in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real); and ASTEXOL-2, located in Badajoz. Their construction started at the beginning of July and they represent a total investment exceeding 900 million euros. Each plant has a power of 50 MW, takes up an area of roughly 160 hectares and incorporates parabolic cylinder technology. Among other advantages, they will produce clean electricity equivalent to the consumption of 90,000 homes, thus preventing 144,000 tons of CO2 emissions yearly. These projects will also have a significant social-economic impact through the creation of 1.500 direct jobs during the construction stage and 150 jobs when operational.

Renewable energy

Over the last few years, Elecnor has become one of the main renewable energy operators, both in the domestic and the foreign markets. In terms of wind power, it exploits close to 800 MW, while in photovoltaic solar power it has taken part in the development of different projects totalling more than 200 MW.

This first move into the Spanish solar thermal market brings to its renewables portfolio 150 solar thermal megawatts under construction. For the solar thermal sector, Elecnor has the technical and economic competence necessary to develop the design, supply, construction, launch, operation and maintenance of thermoelectric solar plants based on parabolic cylinder collector technology. This makes Elecnor one of the leading providers of EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services in the sector. Aside from the projects which have already been preallocated by the Ministry of Industry, Elecnor is also developing studies and requesting permits to launch two more thermoelectric installations in the towns of Manzanares and Alcázar de San Juan.

The Elecnor Group obtains five new wind farms in Brazil.

• The five wind farms will have a power totalling more than 96 MW
• Estimates put investment at around €183 million

Madrid, 15 December 2009. The Elecnor Group, via the Elecnor-Enerfin do Brasil Sociedade de Energia Consortium, was the winning bidder at the LER 003/2009 reserve energy auction of 96 MW, which is earmarked to be used as a source of wind energy. The auction was held on 14 December in Brazil.

The winning project consisted of five wind farms totalling 96 MW of power with a total estimated output of over 330 GWh/year which will be installed in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Estimates put investment at around €183 million.

The Group, when taking part in the auction, was committed to incorporate the company Electrica Estadual de Rio Grande do Sul (CEEE), as well as the technology company/wind generator manufacturer Enercon-Wobben Wind Power, which gives this new project outstanding technical ability and business acumen.

Consequently, Elecnor has reinforced its strong presence in Brazil, which started in 2006 with the construction of the Osorio wind farm (current power: 150 MW). With this new undertaking, the Elecnor Group will have over 250 MW of wind power in Brazil.

Elecnor awarded a transmission concession in Chile

•The contract represents the entry of Elecnor as a private investor in the Chilean transmission network

Madrid, 24 November 2009.-The Chilean body Centro Económico de Despacho del Sistema Interconectado Central (CEDEC – SIC) has awarded Elecnor the development of the Ancoa-Alto Jahuel transmission line. On a concessionary basis, this project includes building, operating and maintaining the facilities for 124.7 million euros.

The new line will interconnect the substation of Ancoa, belonging to the Maule region, and the substation of Alto Jahuel in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. It will have a capacity of 500 kV and a length of 258 kilometres, transporting energy from generation centres to consumption centres, thus supplying electricity to Santiago. The project will be started up in approximately 39 months.

This new investment will help reinforce the growth of the Elecnor Group in the concession market, in consistence with the company’s strategic objectives. It also means the entry of Elecnor as a private investor in the Chilean transmission network with its participation in the tenders put out by CDEC-SIC.

Its strong presence in Latin America has favoured the realisation of important operations on a concessionary basis. Among the most recent ones stand out the holdings in the electric energy transmission concessionary companies in Brazil, where, on its own or in consortium, it participates in fifteen concessions. Also, in consortium with another company, Elecnor has the concession in Peru of the Mantaro-Caraveli-Montalvo transmission line (500 kV) and the Machu Picchu-Cotaruse transmission line (220 kV), as well as the associated substations, spanning a line length of 964 kilometres.

The Elecnor Group registered a net consolidated result of €74.2 M

Third quarter of 2009

•Elecnor, the parent company of the Group, increases its profits by 36%, reaching 40.9 million euros

Madrid, 6 November 2009.- The Elecnor Group has closed the third quarter with a turnover of 1.179 billion euros, compared with the 1.465 billion euros obtained in the same period of the previous year. The net result was 74.2 million euros, which represents a fall of 2% compared with the 75.6 million euros registered in the first nine months of 2008.

This decrease in the turnover is caused largely by the situation of the photovoltaic sector, which has slowed down due to the recent change in the regulations. By markets, at a national level the decrease was of 25.4%, whereas in the foreign markets the volume of activity grew by 36%.

On the other hand, the parent company of the Group, Elecnor, reduced its turnover by 18%, with an amount of 895.3 million euros. The net result amounts to 40.9 million euros, which represents an increase of 36% in comparison with the third quarter of 2008.

Main projects

Within the first nine months of this year, the Elecnor Group has developed an intense activity, among which stand out operations such as entering the solar thermal market with three 50 MW thermoelectric plants with an investment exceeding 935 million euros. These are projects ASTE, phases 1A and 1B, located in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real); and Astexol-2 in Badajoz (Extremadura). On the other hand, in the wind power sector, the Elecnor Group inaugurated at the beginning of November the Villanueva I and II wind farms in Valencia, with a total of 66.7 MW.

Abroad, the highlight is the contract finalised in Venezuela to build a combined cycle gas electric

The Elecnor Group inaugurates two wind farms in the Valencian Community

•The Regional Minister of Infrastructures and Transport stated that the farms represent “an important milestone for the Valencian Community and the fifteen zones of its Wind Power Plan, which is a part of the Community’s commitment to renewable and clean energy."
•The Villanueva I and II wind farms generate a combined power of 66.7 MW and have meant an investment of 102 million euros.

Valencia 2 November 2009.- Enerfín Sociedad de Energía, a subsidiary of the Elecnor Group, has inaugurated today the Villanueva I and Villanueva II wind farms in the town of Jarafuel, Valencia. The official ceremony was led by Mario Flores, Regional Minister of Infrastructures and Transport of the Valencian Community, who emphasised that the farms represent “an important milestone for the Community and the fifteen zones which make up its Wind Power Plan, within the framework of the Community’s commitment to renewable and clean energy. A commitment which is already giving results, since the energy produced is equivalent to 2,300 MW of power for the whole Region”.

The inauguration was also attended by Antonio Cejalvo, Director-General of Industry, Energy and Mines, and the Mayor of Jarafuel, Fernando García, among other authorities. Gabriel de Oraa, Chairman of the company, attended the event in representation of Enerfín.

With the start-up of the Villanueva I and Villanueva II farms, the so-called zone 10 of the Wind Power Plan of the Valencian Community is activated, with a total output of 167 MW.

On his side, Gabriel de Oraa, Chairman of Enerfín, has pointed out that “Our commitment to the social-economical development of this region is tangible. Moreover, it is so in fields of huge potential and importance for the future of the following generations, which will certainly help guarantee the dynamic role of the Valencian Community over the next few decades, both in Spain and in Europe as a whole.”

An investment of 102 million euros

29 wind turbines made by German manufacturer Enercon have been used to build the farms on a turnkey basis. With a power of 66.7 MW and an investment of 102 million euros, they will generate clean energy for the consumption of 27,000 families, preventing the emission of 54,540 tonnes of CO2.

Both projects are within the framework of the Wind Power Plan Enerfín has for the Valencian Community, with a total power of 356 MW and whose development will mean a total investment of 600 million euros. Among the associated industrial commitments, the Plan foresees the creation of over 340 direct jobs, as well as a direct investment of 43 million euros.

These figures have been easily attained with only 66.7 MW installed out of the 356 MW planned for the whole of the Plan developed by Enerfín. Specifically, Villanueva I and Villanueva II have had a significant social-economic impact on the Community, with a direct investment of 24.75 million euros and the creation of 324 jobs.

These figures could increase significantly thanks to the project of the technological supplier Enercon, which is planning to build a plant of prefabricated concrete towers in Jalance to supply the farms Enerfín has in its portfolio for the provinces of Valencia and Castellón. These complexes will complete zone 10 in Valencia and zone 4, with a power of 189 MW, in Castellón.

Aside from attracting the establishment of Enercon in the Community, the new farms have introduced other technological and industrial actions associated to renewable energy, especially those related to the photovoltaic module manufacturer Atersa, which also belongs to the Elecnor Group and has an intense activity in the Region.

Wind power expansion

With the start-up of the Villanueva I and II farms, the Elecnor Group, through its subsidiary Enerfín, increases its exploited wind power, with a participation in wind farms totalling close to 781 MW. It also has a wide portfolio of projects under development, essentially abroad. Among them stands out the 100 MW wind project of L’Erable in Québec, Canada, chosen at the beginning of this month in the worldwide tender put out by Hydro Québec for wind power generation. It has also undertaken its wind power activites in the United States, where it is developing projects for 380 MW distributed among the states of Montana, Washington and Oregon.

Elecnor to build the Casa de las Artes in Cadiz

•The new centre will have a surface area of 15,300 m2 and host over 1,500 students
•The project is characterised by the improvements in bioclimatic aspects and in improving the use of natural resources

Madrid, 29 October 2009.- Elecnor has been the successful bidder for the works in the Casa de las Artes educational complex in Cadiz, which will be ready in 2012.

The Regional Ministry of Education has stated that the Casa de las Artes is the “most important and emblematic work developed by the Regional Ministry of Education in the whole of Andalusia”, which in the future will bring together “the artistic teachings in Cadiz”.

The new centre will host over 1,500 students, with its main features being its modernity and the fact that it will be built with “bioclimatic criteria” to reduce energy consumption.

The complex will consist of four buildings and will include, among other cultural equipment, an assembly hall with capacity for 300 people. The Casa will be located in an emblematic zone, concentrating the Professional Conservatory of Music, that of Dance and the School of Plastic Arts and Design.

Each school will have its own building, with a forth transversal building accommodating the common spaces. In all, the complex will have over 15,300 m2 of developed area and a capacity for more than 1,500 students.

The project, to be carried out in a temporary consortium with Sando, is characterised by the improvements which focus mainly on bioclimatic aspects, among which stand out the introduction of large vegetation with deciduous leaves in the spaces between the schools, allowing the sun to shine through in winter and shading the classrooms in summer, as well as natural ventilation in the entire building, the orientation of lattice strips according to the incidence of sunlight, recovery of rainwater in a tank for watering the areas with plants, heating by means of a biomass heater and hot water in the toilets provided by solar panels.

Elecnor to build four substations in Venezuela

•The facilities will be associated to a combined cycle plant which will provide power to Caracas
•The contract bolsters the portfolio of projects developed by Elecnor abroad

•The portfolio of pending contracts for the second semester amounts to 1.2334 billion euros, a 29.4% increase compared with 2008

Madrid, 14 August 2009.- The Elecnor Group closed the first quarter with a turnover of 754.9 million euros and a net consolidated result of 45.1 million euros. On the other hand, the parent company Elecnor had a turnover of 586 million euros, with a PAT of 27.5 million euros.

Even though these figures come short of the same semester last year (mainly because of the concentration of the execution of photovoltaic installation works in this semester and the slowing down of this business area in the first half of 2009, due to the new regulatory framework) the forecast shows that at the end of 2009 the company could reach figures similar to those of the 2008 fiscal year.

The Elecnor Group starts the second semester of the year with a portfolio of pending contracts for 1.2334 billion euros, an increase of 29.4% compared with 31 December 2008, due mainly to a significant rise in foreign contracting. The domestic market has a value of 518.3 million euros, while the foreign market is for 715.1 million euros. Compared with the portfolio of pending contracts last 31 December, this means a growth of 11.2% and 46.8%, respectively.

With this important contract portfolio and with a view to closing the fiscal year, the Elecnor Group hopes to consolidate the results obtained during the previous year, which would make 2009 a decent fiscal year taking into account the global economic climate, on the one hand, and the downturn of the photovoltaic industry, on the other.

Main operations

In the first semester of 2009, a special mention goes to the progress of the solar thermal power projects of the Elecnor Group, which will develop three 50 MW thermoelectric plants due to start up in the second semester of 2011. These are projects ASTE, phases 1A and 1B, located in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real); and Astexol-2 in Badajoz (Extremadura), with more than 935 million euros invested. These 150 MW will generate the clean electricity necessary for the consumption of 90,000 homes, thus preventing 144,000 tons of CO2 emissions yearly.

Elecnor launches the first Spanish Earth imaging satellite

•Deimos Imaging, a subsidiary of the Elecnor Group, has developed this innovative project which also includes a tracking and control centre located in Valladolid’s Parque Tecnológico de Boecillo.
•This is the first time in Spain that Earth imaging will be used for environmental and farming purposes.

Madrid, 30 July 2009.- DEIMOS-1, the first European commercial Earth imaging satellite, was successfully launched yesterday from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 20:46 Spanish time. This Elecnor Group project, developed through its subsidiary Deimos Imaging and directed by Pedro Duque, breaks new ground in its field, since this is the first time in Spain that space will be used to improve the environment and agriculture by providing visual information from all over the world.

On board a launch vehicle equipped with rocket engines, DEIMOS-1 left the atmosphere a few minutes later, reaching a speed in excess of 7.9 km/s (28,440 km/h) and an altitude of more than 150 km. The carrier rocket subsequently released the satellite into an initial orbit around the Earth. It was later moved to its final orbit by the Tracking and Control Centre located in Valladolid’s Parque Tecnológico de Boecillo.

The DEIMOS-1 project is a milestone in Spain for several reasons. First, because the Elecnor Group subsidiary which developed it, Deimos Imaging, is the first European fully private company to launch its own Earth imaging satellite. Second, because this is a 100% Spanish project which will also make it possible for the first time in our country to use satellite images for environmental and farming purposes.

Applications in agriculture and fighting wildfires

The geospatial information provided by the satellite will have an important application in the farming sector, in so-called “precision agriculture”, improving crop management in Spain. Thanks to the information obtained by DEIMOS-1 it will be possible to monitor farming plots, classify them according to their fertiliser and phytosanitary requirements, estimate irrigation needs and make comparisons from one farming year to the next.

The information provided for developing products in the field of forest management, and especially in all matters concerning wildfires, will be essential for our country. This includes knowing the perimeter of burnt areas, the condition of the vegetation or the incidence in the danger posed by the fire.

It will also have applications in the environmental domain thanks to the supervision of the territory and water resources, the monitoring of pollution levels and the surveillance and change control during floods or wildfires.

According to the General Manager of the Elecnor Group, Rafael Martín de Bustamante, “this is a historic moment and the success of this launch bolsters the firm commitment of the Elecnor Group to the aerospace sector. The work carried out by our subsidiary Deimos Imaging during these years has been excellent. It has pioneered many initiatives in the field of remote sensing and has now become the first fully private European company to launch its own Earth imaging satellite.”

On his part, the General Manager of Deimos Imaging Pedro Duque said that “recently the conquest of space has brought tangible benefits to society. With the DEIMOS-1 satellite we have made a giant leap in Spain, since it will allow us to put cutting-edge geospace technology at the service of the environment or the farming and forestry sectors to help them improve and develop.

The mission will have a great data acquisition capacity and provide multispectral images for their commercial exploitation and the monitoring of natural disasters. The satellite will complete approximately 14 orbits and image roughly 3 million km2 daily, generating over 20 GB per day and over 140 GB per week.

Elecnor signs the awarding of a combined cycle plant in Venezuela

Madrid, 29 July 2009. Elecnor and Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción have been awarded the turnkey construction project for a combined cycle power plant in Venezuela.

The plant, located in the city of Cumaná, in Sucre State, will become one of Latin America's largest, with a capacity of 1000 MW, and will be built for Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) by a consortium made up of Elecnor and Iberdrola Ingeniería.

The signing ceremony took place at the Miraflores Palace, the seat of the Venezuelan government, and was attended by the country's President Hugo Chávez and the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miguel Angel Moratinos.

The project includes the design, construction and operational start-up of the plant, named Antonio José de Sucre, which will comprise two modules of 500 MW each, using natural gas as the base fuel.

The project will take some three and a half years to complete and will be performed in two phases: one covering the simple cycle, including only the gas turbines, and the installation of the complete combined cycle, with recovery boilers and steam turbines.

Construction begins for the Badajoz Astexol-2 solar thermal plant

•A 50 MW project with an investment of more than 300 million
They will provide 150 MW and represent an investment of 935 million.
•They will supply 90,000 homes with clean electricity, preventing 144,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
•The plants will be operational in the second half of 2011 and each one will create an average of 500 jobs during construction

Madrid, 22 June 2009.- Elecnor is breaking into the Spanish solar thermal energy scene by developing three thermoelectric plants, with a power of 50 MW each. These are projects ASTE, phases 1A and 1B, located in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real); and Astexol-2 in Badajoz (Extremadura), with more than 900 million euros invested.

The facilities, which will be up and running in the second half of 2011, will use parabolic cylinder technology to generate enough clean electricity to supply 90,000 homes, thus preventing 144,000 tons of CO2 emissions yearly. In addition, the projects imply a significant social-economic impact, through the creation of 500 direct jobs during the construction stage and 150 jobs when operational.

Aside from these projects, in which the engineering firm Aries and the investment fund ABN AMRO Global Infrastructure Fund are participating, Elecnor is developing studies and requesting permits to launch two more thermoelectric installations for the towns of Manzanares and Alcázar de San Juan. In short, Elecnor plans to have five thermoelectric plants installed in Spain by 2013.

Elecnor increases its total gross dividend by 36.3%

Agreements of the Shareholders’ General Meeting

•On 12 June, the company will pay out an extra dividend of 0.1648 euros per share for the 2008 year

Madrid, 20 May 2009.- The Elecnor, S.A. General Shareholders’ Meeting, held on this Wednesday in Madrid, approved the 2008 fiscal year accounts and the result application proposal. This includes an extra dividend of 0.1648 euros per share to be paid out next 12 June, in addition to the yearly dividend of 0.0518 euros per share paid out last 9 January.

Thus, the total dividend amounts to 0.2167 euros per share, 36.3% higher than that paid for the 2007 results. This gives a pay-out of 39.3% and a dividend yield during the 2009 calendar year of 3.19%.

Cancellation of treasury shares

The General Meeting also approved the Board’s proposal to reduce the share capital by cancelling three million treasury shares, with a nominal value of 0.10 euros per share, for a total amount of 300,000 euros.

The goal of this is to increase stock value, which so far in 2009 has appreciated by 24.7%, rising from its value of 7.09 euros at the end of 2008 to a value of 8.84 yesterday, Tuesday 19 May.

2008 year

The Elecnor Group closed the 2008 year with a consolidated net result of 93.6 million euros, which means an increase of 27.2% compared with 2007. On the other hand, the consolidated turnover grew by 15.8%, rising from 1.65 billion euros in 2007 to 1.911 billion in 2008.

These data continued the high growth rates of previous years. Specifically, over the last three years the Elecnor Group has doubled its net result, rising from 47.3 million euros in 2005 to the aforementioned 93.6 million last year.

According to the chairman of Elecnor, Fernando Azaola, “the key to this satisfactory progress in the context of an economic crisis like this one can be found in a three-pronged diversification: by industries, by territories and by income type. From the first point of view, Elecnor’s commitment to renewable energy is compensating for the downturn of other activities. With regard to territories, our presence in over 20 countries allows us to compensate cyclic downturns in one market or the other, as is the case now in Spain. To that, one must add the conversion of part of the business into recurrent thanks to the favourable climate in concession activities.”

The Elecnor Group registered a net profit of 18.8 million euros

First Quarter of 2009

•Signifies a slight contraction of 2.3%
The consolidated turnover was 372 million euros, down by 17.8%

Madrid, 11 May 2009.- The Elecnor Group registered consolidated net profits of 18.8 million euros in the first quarter of 2009. This was a slight contraction of 2.3%, meaning the institution maintained parameters similar to those registered for the same period last year. In the first quarter of the year, turnover was 372 million euros, 17.8% less than in the first quarter of 2008, a period in which the Elecnor Group registered 452 million euros.

The change in the regulatory framework affecting the photovoltaic sector -activities primarily undertaken by the parent company Elecnor and its subsidiary Atersa- explains the contraction seen in the Group’s turnover. A greater contribution from the Brazilian concessionary companies, as well as increased margins for international and wind energy companies, have allowed the Group to maintain its earning parameters.

With regards to Elecnor, the Group’s parent company, its invoicing went down by 15.9% compared to the first quarter of 2008, with 302.4 million euros. This drop is in response to the lower weight of photovoltaic activity, primarily concentrated in the first half of 2008, due the uncertainty regarding the new regulatory framework for the sector. A tendency for increased earnings from the international market continues, growing by 29.3%, whereas the domestic market decreased by 20.1%. The company saw consolidated net profits of 11.7 million euros, or 53.6% more than that obtained on the same date of the previous fiscal year. This significant increase is mainly due to a greater dividend contribution from subsidiary companies.

The Elecnor Group increased its consolidated net result by 27.2%

The consolidated turnover was 1.911 billion euros, up by 15.8%

Madrid, 27 February 2008.- The Elecnor Group closed the 2008 year with a consolidated net result of 93.6 million euros, an increase of 27.2% compared with 2007.

The parent company of the Group, Elecnor, S.A., obtained a profit after tax of 49.7 million euros in 2008, which means an increase compared with 2007 similar to that of the Group: 27.6%. With regard to the individual turnover, it increased by 7.9%, reaching 1.468 billion.

The key to this satisfactory progress in the context of an economic crisis like this one can be found in a three-pronged diversification: by industries, by territories and by income type. From the first point of view, Elecnor’s commitment to renewable energy, especially photovoltaic solar power, is compensating for the downturn in other activities. With regard to territories, its presence in over 20 countries allows it to compensate cyclic downturns in one market or the other, as is the case now in Spain. To that one must add the conversion of part of the business into recurrent thanks to the favourable climate in concession activities in our country and certain emerging zones, such as Brazil.

Main operations in 2008

It was precisely in the field of concessions that the Elecnor Group achieved some of its most relevant milestones last year. Thus, in November it won the concession for the construction and exploitation in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul of a new electric transmission system, with an estimated investment of 135 million euros. Since Elecnor won its first concession in Brazil back in 2000, and as of the end of 2008, it already participates in fifteen transmission systems, eight of which are operative, while the others are under construction. They cover a total length of 6,700 kilometres, a figure which represents 26% of the transmission system awarded by public tenders in that country. All these concessions imply an investment by Elecnor of more than 800 million euros.

Also outside our borders, and through its subsidiary Enerfín Sociedad de Energía, in May it was chosen by Hydro-Québec Distribution to supply 100 megawatts of wind power for a wind farm project in Québec, Canada. The Elecnor Group is present in wind farms being built and exploited with a total power in excess of 750 megawatts, of which 579 are directly attributable to the group. Also in the wind power industry and through its subsidiary Ventos do Sul, it is the owner of the largest farm in Latin America, a 150 MW wind farm located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

In Spain, the Elecnor Group continued its vigorous expansion in the photovoltaic solar power industry, thanks to the activities as a turnkey constructor of Elecnor, S.A. and its subsidiary Atersa, a pioneering firm in Spain in the provision of specialised equipment and systems for this sector. With a total photovoltaic power of over 100 MW built during 2007 and 2008, the Elecnor Group is one of the leaders in this sector in Spain.

Elecnor wins a water supply project in Algeria

•It will build the interconnection of the water coming from the Souk-Tleta Desalination Plant with the supply network of the Tlemcen region in Algeria
•It will mean an estimated investment of 250 million euros

Madrid, 27 January 2009.- Elecnor Group has signed a contract with the Algerian Public Company ADE for the execution of the water connection infrastructures between the Souk-Tleta Desalination Plant and the Tlemcen region in the western area of this Maghribian country.

With an investment of approximately 250 million euros, the project includes the engineering, supplies, construction and putting into service of the infrastructure works needed to connect the future Souk-Tleta Desalinating Plant, with a capacity of 200,000 m3/day, with the various drinking water supply networks of the Tlemcen region.

The Elecnor Group will build the discharge collector of the desalination plant by means of a 1,400 millimetre diameter tube. It will also build five new pumping stations and restore already existing ones with a power ranging from 8,450 to 50 kW. It will also lay down 156 kilometres of tubes and build six water deposits from 20,000 to 1,000 m³. The work is completed with the system remote management and the laying down of optic fibre on the main route.

This new contract allows the Elecnor Group to bolster its activities in the Northern African and Middle East markets, strategic regions for its international expansion. By business areas, this represents its entry in the Algerian water and environmental sectors, two fundamental driving forces of the Group’s diversification over the last few years.

The Souk-Tleta project, within the framework of the ambitious Algerian national water treatment project, will be executed in approximately a year and a half.

ROYAL AUDIENCE FOR THE ELECNOR GROUP’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Madrid, 2 December 2008.- Elecnor celebrated today one of the highlights of its commemorative programme with the official audience offered by His Majesty the King Juan Carlos to the company for its 50th anniversary. The Elecnor Group concluded its 50th anniversary celebrations with the royal audience, the date on which the company wanted to leave its mark by setting up the Elecnor Foundation.

Elecnor Group strengthens its concession activities in Brazil

•Nine transmission lines and seven electric substations in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul awarded
•It will mean an estimated investment of 135 million euros

Madrid, 26 November 2008.- Elecnor Group has won a concession for the construction and exploitation in Brazil of a new electric transmission system, with an investment of approximately 135 million euros.

The project, awarded through a public tender by the Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) of this country, bolsters the national electric system, improving the transmission of energy to the Brazilian towns of Chapadão, Imbirussu, Sidrolândia, Rio Brilhante and Ivinhema, belonging to the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.

The awarding includes the construction of nine transmission lines with a total length of 616 kilometres, as well as the building of seven substations of between 138 and 280 kilovolts each. The estimated execution period is 18 months.

This investment of 135 million euros strengthens the concession activity of the Elecnor Group in one of its key markets: Brazil. Likewise, the project reflects one of the company’s main objectives within its 2006-2010 Strategic Plan, which aims to bolster this business area devoted to the concessions market, with particular attention to the electric transmissions domain and the environmental area.

Since Elecnor won its first concession in Brazil back in 2000, it already participates in fifteen transmission systems, eight of which are operative, while the others are under construction. The lines cover a total length of 6,700 kilometres, a figure which represents 26% of the transmission system awarded by public tenders. Approximately 1,900 kilometres are attributed directly to Elecnor, with input and output to 40 substations with a total transformation capacity in excess of 11,000 megawatts. Both concessions imply an investment attributable to Elecnor of more than 800 million euros.

The Elecnor Group increased its consolidated net result by 67.7%

•The turnover amounted to 1.0742 billion euros, 34.5% more than in the first semester of 2007

Madrid, 26 August 2008.- The Elecnor Group closed the first semester with a cumulative net result of 60.3 million euros, 67.7% more than in the same period last year, when it obtained a profit of 36 million euros. In the first half of the year, turnover was at 1.0742 billion euros, 34.5% more than in the January-June period of 2007.

Among these results stands out the growth of Elecnor S.A. and Atersa, a subsidiary devoted to photovoltaic activities and a strategic provider for Elecnor S.A.’s turnkey photovoltaic installations, as well as the contribution of the Brazilian companies devoted to the construction of electric lines (Montagens Elétricas da Serra, Ltda. and Vilhena Montagens Elétricas, Ltda.). The wind power companies of the Group also posted better results, mainly thanks to the increase of the sale price for this type of energy.

With regards to Elecnor, the Group’s parent company, its invoicing went up by 20.31% compared to the first semester of 2007, with 807.1 million euros. The company saw a consolidated net result of 21.3 million euros, or 18.6% more than that obtained on the same date of the previous fiscal year. This increase reflects the concentration of the contractings of photovoltaic operations during the first semester of this year, in view of the uncertainty generated by the new regulatory framework due to come into force in September.

Main operations

Among the photovoltaic projects, Elecnor will execute the so-called Parque Solar de Zuera, developed by Solavanti in the province of Zaragoza, with a capacity of 9.92 MW of photovoltaic power for approximately 7,000 homes.

Abroad, its concession activities in South America are especially prominent. In Brazil, Elecnor has been awarded two high voltage lines and substations put to tender by the Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) of that country. Both projects imply an investment of more than 77 million euros. In Peru, the Government, through the Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión) awarded Elecnor the concession to build and operate two electric transmission lines in the Andes during 30 years, with an investment of 181 million dollars.

These projects join the contract signed with the Algerian company Sonelgaz Transport d’Electricité for laying down the Tilghmet–Djelfa electric transmission line in Algeria during the first months of the year.

The Elecnor Group wins two transmission concessions in Brazil

•These contracts have an exploitation term of 30 years and represent an investment of 77 million euros
•With this project, the company participates in fourteen transmission system concessions in this country

Madrid, 3 July 2008.- Elecnor Group reinforces its concessions activities in one of its strategic markets, Brazil, after winning the bid for two awardings of high voltage lines and substations put to tender by the Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) of that country. Both projects imply an investment of more than 77 million euros (195 million Brazilian reais).

The first lot awarded, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, includes the construction of 47 kilometres of electric lines in two stretches of 23.5 km each, with a transmission of 345 kilowatts, as well as an 800 megawatt substation.

The second lot is to be executed in the states of Goiás and Minas Gerais, with two transmission lines. The first one, 23 kilometres long and with a voltage of 500 kV, will connect the towns of São Simão and Itaguaçu and will be associated to a 675 megawatt substation. The second one, 49 kilometres long and with a power of 230 kW and stretching to the city of Barra dos Coqueiros, will also have an associated substation.

This new investment will help reinforce the growth of the Elecnor Group in the concession market, in consistence with the company’s strategic objectives within the 2006-2010 Strategic Plan. It also reinforces its presence in Brazil, a market where it already has a marked presence both in the field of electric transmission systems and that of renewable energy.

Since Elecnor won its first concession in this Latin American country back in 2000, it already participates in fourteen transmission systems, seven of which are operative, while the others are under construction. The lines cover a total length of 6,000 kilometres, a figure which represents 26% of the transmission system awarded by public tenders. Approximately 2,000 kilometres are attributed directly to Elecnor, with input and output to 36 substations with a total transformation capacity in excess of 11,000 megawatts.

Elecnor increases its total gross dividend by 53.7% compared with the 2006 fiscal year and splits capital in a 2x1 proportion

This increase in the dividend paid out for the 2007 year is brought about by the 20% growth of the ordinary dividend and the special dividend of 0.089 euros per share to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary.

Madrid, 18 June 2008.- The Elecnor, S.A. General Shareholders’ Meeting, held on this Wednesday in Madrid, has approved the 2007 fiscal year accounts and the result application proposal. This includes the payment next 8 September of an special dividend of 0.089 euros per share to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company, which is being commemorated throughout 2008.

With regard to the ordinary dividend, the payment of an extra dividend of 0.232 euros per share on 3 July was approved, in addition to the yearly dividend of 0.086 euros per share paid out last 11 January. Thus, the total ordinary dividend amounts to 0.318 euros per share, or 20% more than that paid for the 2006 fiscal year. After adding the special dividend, the total dividend amounts to 0.407 euros per share, an increase of 53.7% compared with the previous year.

Capital split

The Board also approved the proposal to split the capital in a proportion of two new shares for each old one, by reducing their nominal value from 0.20 to 0.10 euros. Thus, the total amount of shares will rise from the previous figure of 45 million to 90 million, without any change whatsoever in share capital, which will remain fixed at 9 million euros.

According to the chairman of Elecnor Fernando Azaola, “with this split we wish to increase the liquidity of our shares. The splits made by our company in the past, of 3x1 in 2001 and 5x1 in 2005, were very positive for increasing the volume of negotiation and, ultimately, stock price.

Profitability

In 2007, the total profitability for Elecnor shareholders was 49.3% as a consequence of the stock appreciation during the year (48.3%) and the profitability generated by the dividends distributed during the calendar year (1%).

2007 figures and business

The Elecnor Group closed the 2007 year with a consolidated net result of 73.5 million euros, an increase of 34.1% compared with the previous year. The consolidated turnover rose by 50.6%, up to 1.65 billion euros, with all subsidiaries progressing favourably.

With regard to the parent company Elecnor, S.A., its profit after tax rose by 30.1%, amounting to 40.2 million euros. It had a turnover of 1.36 billion euros, representing an increase of 66.8%.

By business areas, the significant growth in renewable energy stands out, especially in photovoltaic and wind power. This market has become the main source of business of the Elecnor Group, surpassing electric infrastructures.

During 2007, 81.1% of the sales of the Group had their origins in our country, whereas the remaining 18.9% were made in some of the more than 20 foreign markets in which Elecnor is active.

First quarter of 2008

During the General Shareholders’ Meeting, the chairman of the company emphasised the key consolidated figures of the Group at the end of the first quarter of 2008: a net result of 22 million euros (up by 76.2% compared with the same period in 2007) and a turnover of 452.8 million euros (up by 47.8%).

The 2008 fiscal year started off with an order portfolio for a value of 1,055 million euros, or 43.4% more than on 1 January 2007. Fernando Azaola stressed that “on 31 March, the order portfolio had increased slightly compared with the beginning of the year, despite the intense production rate we have sustained over this period. This consolidation of the portfolio was made possible, above all, by the special effort we made in contracting new orders abroad, which increased by 79% compared with the previous year. This way, we are compensating for the slowing down of the domestic market.”

The Elecnor Group starts building two wind farms in Jarafuel, Valencia

•Through its subsidiary Enerfín Sociedad de Energía
•They represent 18% of the total 365 MW wind power to be generated by Elecnor in the Valencian Community, with a global investment of 600 million euros

Madrid, 29 May 2008.- Enerfín Sociedad de Energía, a subsidiary of the Elecnor Group, has begun construction of the Villanueva I and Villanueva II wind farms in the town of Jarafuel, Valencia. The complexes will generate 66.7 megawatts (MW) and have 29 wind turbines with a power of 2.3 MW each, made by the German technology company Enercon.

Both wind projects, which are the first of the Elecnor Group in the Valencian Community, are carried out within the framework of the Wind Power Plan to be executed by Enerfín in the region for a total of 365 MW, pursuant to the agreement signed with the Regional Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport of the Generalitat at the beginning of 2007.

The Plan foresees a global investment in excess of 600 million euros and, thanks to the realisation of the associated industrial commitments, will make possible the creation of over 340 direct jobs. Another of the key contributions of this plan is the arrival in Spain of the German group Enercon, a worldwide technological reference in the manufacture of wind turbines with which Enerfín has reached agreements to implement projects in Galicia, Brazil and Canada.

Also, Enerfín incorporates in this Wind Power Plan other technological and industrial actions associated to renewable energy, especially those related to the manufacturer of photovoltaic modules Atersa, which also belongs to the Elecnor Group and has an intense activity in the Valencian Community.

Wind power expansion

With the start-up of the Villanueva I and II farms, the Elecnor Group increases its exploited wind power, with a participation in wind farms totalling close to 700 MW. It also has a wide portfolio of projects under development, essentially abroad. Among them stands out the 100 MW wind project of L’Erable in Québec, Canada. Chosen at the beginning of this month in the worldwide tender put out by Hydro Québec for the generation of wind energy.

The Elecnor Group to build a new wind power project in Canada.

•Through its subsidiary Enerfín Sociedad de Energía
•100 MW of wind power for the L’Erable Wind Farm in Québec
•Only Spanish company chosen in the tender put out by Hydro-Québec

Enerfín Sociedad de Energía, a subsidiary of the ELECNOR Group, has been chosen by Hydro-Québec Distribution to supply 100 megawatts of wind power for a wind project in Québec, Canada.

This new operation is the result of the awarding of the tender put out by Hydro-Québec Distribution for the supply of a total of 2,004 new capacity megawatts generated by wind farms. Only 15 of the 66 submitted proposals were accepted, and Enerfín was the only Spanish company chosen.

The awarding of the proposal implies the development of 100 megawatts of wind power for the L’Erable Wind Farm, located in the Centre-du-Québec region, about 150 km from Montréal. The project, due to come into service in December 2011, will be developed with wind turbines of two megawatts of power each supplied by the company Enercon, a German firm with which Enerfín has agreements to develop other projects in Canada, Brazil and, in the national territory, in the Valencian Community and Galicia.

The result of the tender was officially revealed in a ceremony held in Montréal. The Prime Minister of Québec, Mr Jean Charest, presided over the ceremony. Other official representatives were the Minister of Natural Resources and Wildlife, Mr Claude Béchard, and the CEO of Hydro-Québec, Mr Thierry Vandal.

Wind power expansion

Through its subsidiaries Enerfín Sociedad de Energía, Enerfín Enervento and Elecnor Financiera, the Elecnor Group is present in wind farms being built and exploited with a total power in excess of 750 megawatts, of which 579 are directly attributable to the group. Also in the wind power industry and through its subsidiary Ventos do Sul, it is the owner of the largest farm in Latin America, a 150 MW wind farm located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Another of the most remarkable projects of the Group is that undertaken by Enerfín Sociedad de Energía in the Valencian Community. Currently in development, it entails the construction of several wind farms with a total generation capacity of 356 megawatts.

The Elecnor Group increased its consolidated net result by 76.2%, up to 22 million euros

•The turnover amounted to 452.76 billion euros, 47.8% more than in the first quarter of 2007
Madrid, 9 May 2008.- The Elecnor Group closed the first quarter with a cumulative net result of 22 million euros, 76.22% more than in the same period last year, when it obtained a profit of 12.53 million euros. In the first quarter of the year, turnover was 452.76 million euros, 47.8% more than in the January-March period of 2008. The companies Elecnor and Atersa, the main forces behind the intense activity developed by the Group in the photovoltaic sector during this period, played a special role in this growth.

With regards to Elecnor, the Group’s parent company, its invoicing went up by 41.9% compared to the first quarter of 2007, rising from 253.4 to 359.57 million euros. The company obtained a consolidated net result of 19.25 million euros, or 31.4% more than on the same date in the previous year. This growth was favoured by the progress made in the domestic market, with a growth rate of 45.5%. This increase reflects the concentration of the contractings of photovoltaic operations during the first semester of this year, in view of the uncertainty generated by the new regulatory framework due to come into force in September.

Main operations

Among the photovoltaic projects, Elecnor will execute the so-called Parque Solar de Zuera, developed by Solavanti in the province of Zaragoza. With a planned investment of 61.5 million euros, it will have a capacity of 9.92 MW of photovoltaic power for approximately 7,000 homes.

In the foreign market, it is worth noting the contract signed with the Algerian company Sonelgaz Transport d’Electricité for laying down the Tilghmet–Djelfa electric transmission line in Algeria for 48.91 million euros. With a length of over 205 kilometres and a voltage of 400 kV, this electric line will link the towns of Tilghmet and Djelfa, located 430 and 230 km to the south of Algiers, respectively.

Aside from the activities themselves, and to mark its 50th anniversary, the Elecnor Group has programmed several commemorative ceremonies intended essentially for its employees, the firm’s main asset.

The Elecnor Group wins the concession of two electric lines in Peru

•Jointly with Isolux Corsán through the Spanish consortium Isonor Transmisión
•This concession for 30 years implies laying down 960 kilometres of lines and an investment of 181 million dollars

The Peruvian Government, through the Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión) has awarded to the Spanish companies Elecnor and Isolux Corsán the concession to build and operate two electric transmission lines in the Andes. The awarding represents a 181 million dollar investment for the Group.

This concession for 30 years includes the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of two lines. On the one hand, the 760 kilometre long Mantaro-Caravelí-Montalvo line, with a voltage of 500 kV. It will link the Andean regions of Junín, Ayacucho and Apurímac to Arequipa and Moquegua, in the country’s southern coast. The second line, Machu Picchu-Cotaruse, will link the electric substation of Machu Picchu, in Cuzco, to that of Cotaruse in Apurímac, in Peru’s central Andes, with a length of 200 kilometres and a voltage of 220 kV.

The state agency Proinversión aims to cover the growing demand for energy in the southern system of the country while also lessening overload on the lines.

With this new awarding, Elecnor Group intensifies its activities in the South American market, where it is carrying out several similar projects. Its activity stands out in Brazil, where it participates in twelve transmission system concessions, seven of which are operative, while the rest are under construction. They cover a total length of 5,900 kilometres, of which 1,900 are attributed directly to Elecnor, a figure which represents 26% of the awarded transmission system. The facilities also include entry and exit to 33 substations, 10 of which belong to Elecnor.

Elecnor Group inaugurates the new headquarters of its subsidiary Atersa

•The President of the Generalitat Valenciana Francisco Camps presided over the inauguration ceremony of the new plant in Almussafes
•Elecnor becomes one of the European groups with the greatest production capacity for all the necessary components and equipment to set up any solar electric system

Valencia, 28 April 2008.- Today in Almussafes, the President of the Generalitat Valenciana Francisco Camps led the inauguration of the new headquarters and production plant of ATERSA, the subsidiary of the Elecnor Group devoted to making photovoltaic solar power components. Located in the Juan Carlos I industrial park in Almussafes (Valencia) and with over 20,000 m2, this new factory consolidates Elecnor as one of the European groups with the greatest production capacity for all the necessary components and equipment to set up any solar electric system, whether isolated or connected to the network.

This move from the old plant in Catarroja to Almussafes is a consequence of the significant growth experienced by Atersa, a pioneering company in Spain in the manufacture of photovoltaic solar power components.

Atersa designed the increase of its production capacity in two stages. With the official inauguration of the Almussafes factory, the first stage has been completed after a 34 million euro investment which has doubled its production capacity, reaching 90 MW. Nevertheless, when the enlargement is fully completed in 2010, Atersa shall have 2.4 times that production capacity, reaching 216 MW.

The factory currently has five production lines, four of which are automated with a view to optimising the manufacturing process and increasing their efficiency. These four lines, which represent 90% of the planned production, not only manufacture 6-inch photovoltaic modules but also other models with which it will be possible to obtain up to 280 watts. On the other hand, the more versatile fifth line is used to make smaller modules with special designs to be integrated in buildings, such as the ATM modules for ventilated facades.

The Elecnor Group, which celebrates 50 years of history in 2008, considers its presence in the Valencian Community to be of strategic importance due to the quantity and scope of engineering and infrastructure projects it has carried out for decades in traditional industries, such as electricity, facilities, gas, railways, construction and, more recently, telecommunications, the environment and water. But it is also due to the great support given by this Community to renewable energy, an industry in which the Elecnor Group is one of the main players in the domestic market and various foreign markets, especially Latin America.

The Group’s big projects over the last few years -especially those of Cáceres, Toledo, Almería and Murcia- are among the most ambitious plants in development in all of Europe. This, together with the new contracts and projects in the portfolio and the general forecast for this sector in the mid and long term, pushed the Elecnor Group to make this 34 million euro investment which have made it one of the main national manufacturers.

Atersa, a subsidiary of the Elecnor Group, was founded in 1979 to focus on its activities in the photovoltaic solar power industry. This makes it the most experienced company in this sector in Spain, a leading country in Europe in the production of solar modules which also ranks third on a global scale. Atersa develops, manufactures and markets all the necessary components and equipment to set up any solar electric system, whether isolated or connected to the network. It provides highly specialised engineering and comprehensive solutions for solar systems in national and international projects. With a total workforce of 305 people, it plans to have 400 employees at the end of 2008. Its production lines are in Valencia, and it also has trade offices in Madrid, Valencia and Córdoba.

The Elecnor Group increased its consolidated net result by 34.1%, up to 73.55 million

•The turnover amounted to 1.65 billion euros, 50.6% more than in 2006

Madrid, 28 February 2008.- The Elecnor Group closed 2007 with a cumulative net result of 73.5 million euros, an increase of 34.1% compared with the previous year. The consolidated turnover rose by 50.6%, up to 1.641 billion euros, with all subsidiaries progressing favourably. Elecnor’s increase in sales stands out for its relative weight in the Group’s turnover, just like the growth of Atersa, a company working in photovoltaics.

With regard to Elecnor, its profit after tax rose by 30.1%, amounting to 40.2 million euros in 2007. The parent company had a turnover of 1.36 billion euros, or 66.8% more than in the same period of the previous fiscal year. This development was aided by the advances in both the domestic and the foreign markets, with growth rates of 70.86% and 44.85%, respectively.

Main operations in 2007

The announcement of an investment of over 500 million euros made through the subsidiary Enerfín Enervento is one of the most relevant activities carried out by the Elecnor Group during this year. This amount will be used over the next five years to build several wind farms in the Valencian Community, which will entail the installation of a 356 megawatt generation capacity.

Another of the most important projects undertaken by the Elecnor Group was the construction on a turnkey basis of a biodiesel production plant in the Muelle de la Osa, in Gijón’s Musel port. It will mean an investment of 70 million euros and is expected to be delivered in 2009.

Among the photovoltaic projects, Elecnor will build on a turnkey basis two new solar power plants in Extremadura: The “La Magasquilla” power plant, located in Trujillo (Cáceres), and the Arroyo de San Serván power plant in the province of Badajoz, with a planned investment of 70 and 60 million euros respectively. Another ambitious solar power project is the construction of a 10 MW photovoltaic solar power plant in the town of Almodóvar del Campo, Ciudad Real. The town of Guadarranque in Cadiz will host the development of another 12.3 MW plant.

In the international scene, a special mention goes to the contract won in China, in a temporary consortium with Dominion, to provide the equipment for the new Beijing International Exhibition Centre, to be inaugurated in April 2008. It amounts to 11.8 million euros.

Aena awards Elecnor the supply and installation of the furniture and equipment of the El Prat Airport South Terminal (Barcelona)

In its latest meeting, the Board of Directors of Aena awarded the supply and installation of the furniture and equipment of the new South Terminal of Barcelona Airport to the temporary consortium made up by Elecnor and Planinter, for 9,028,927 euros and with an execution term of five months.
