Elecnor has been awarded an additional 94 MW of wind power in Brazil

The company has become consolidated as a leader in the country, with a total of 422 MW

Madrid, 21 December 2011
.- Elecnor, through its subsidiary Enerfin, has secured an additional 94 MW of wind power in Brazil, where it already operates 180 MW and is currently developing another 148 MW. The multinational will now operate a total of 422 MW, staking its place among Brazil’s industry leaders.

The project awarded to Elecnor, as part of the Alternative Sources tender organized by the Brazilian Government, involves the construction and operation of four wind parks located in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, whose construction is planned for 2013 and 2014.

The total investment for this new contract amounts to 402 million reais, roughly around 167 million euros.

Elecnor maintains a strong presence in the renewable energy field, particularly in wind energy (over 1,000 MW in operation and development), thermal solar energy (three plants currently under construction in Spain) and photovoltaic solar energy where, through its subsidiary Atersa, it is a leader in photovoltaic module manufacturing.
